I love this kind of video, and these looks are beautiful. I really think the all red outfit with those great boots isn't a dress, but a sweater and cropped wide leg trousers. I have two pairs of pants in that style, and they are so comfortable!
@TomKatStitchery4 жыл бұрын
I couldn’t tell since she was walking, however, my plan was to recreate that one as a two piece turtleneck and either pants or a skirt. I think the all over red is what really sold me on that one!

I always love this format where you pin a look and recreate it with patterns. I can't choose a favorite out of this because I am smitten with quite a few of them. Sadly I truly have no place to wear most of them. I packed away all my dressier clothes last fall and have yet to wear any of the few options that I left out. One thing I do enjoy is print mixing and color mixing of my casual things I am wearing so just love all the monochromatic looks you pulled. I am a warm spring color palate so can wear screaming lime green, coral, lavender all in warm shades. Can't wait to see some of the outfits you sew from this group......already saw the orange knit wrap and love it.....another color I look great in.

Great looks-I especially love the first one in the orange tones-and the "Stanwyck Skirt"; I too have the Mccall's pattern, which does seem like a throw back to the late 80's early 90's!! That last blouse is really beautiful!! Thank you!! Have a wonderful weekend!

Second comment from me 😄 I am in love with look n.7, I can't stop thinking about it ❤️ those 80s jeans 😍😍 I found another pattern that is very close as well - the Lazo pants by Thread Theory. It seems that they have ladies patterns as well. Who knew 😄 I will definitely doing that look 😍😍 thanks Whitney ☺️

Thank you for hosting the WFH Module Sewalong; it was a fun. Unless the prizes have an expiration date, in my opinion drawing the winners can wait. Alternatives to the original plan sound like a lot of extra work for you and introduce the possibility that some will perceive the selection process as unfair and create hurt feelings. And yes, IG may not release the hashtags for many weeks.

Thank you for the feedback! I have been in knots over what to do!
@tissy_makes1714 жыл бұрын
I’ve got no skin in the game as I didn’t enter the wfh sewing module but I think you should just trust what you can see and pick a winner from there else it’s just going to be dragged out longer. It’s a fun challenge, it’s not a life and death situation. That’s just my take.

So many great inspiration pics - I love your pattern picks as well. I would love it if you did a sew along for the trench coat - I actually just bought some fabric for that pattern, so I'm very excited to see yours first :) I also purchased some lovely wools from Fabric Mart, so I'm ready to make some coats (and maybe a cape!) as well.

I actually have a bright orange plaid coating fabric I bought a couple of years ago and hope to get it made this winter! I've never been a fan of skinny jeans so have always just kept to my boot cut. But I will be making some wide leg jeans, they are very classy looking. Thanks for the great ideas I will be checking out many of these patterns.

I love these videos! I am out of the streetwear fashion loop since I've been shopping for leggings, tanks, and hoodies for the last 5 years. Now that I'm making my own clothes, I like to watch the RTW sewspiration vlogs. I also really like to get my sewspiration from shows/movies. So if you ever do that too and can share your pattern ideas, that would be awesome. As a new sewist, I think it is natural to start with retro patterns. So I love the sewspiration from Lovecraft Country and Queen's Gambit.

I love these videos of you matching patterns to RTW. The bright orange plaid coat reminds me of the bright plaid/bold snakeskin coats from Miu Mui Fall 2015 collection. I’m definitely thinking of putting that back on my sewing list after watching your video. I’m also thinking about the monochromatic red/burgundy look. ETA: I couldn’t find a similar fabric. I’ll definitely be looking to see what you find. Many, many thanks!

Let’s just start with: you look stunning in this video bc your shirt goes so well with your hair & your lipstick (orange) spot on. I have always been a winter but I can wear orange & army greens really well but I can also wear blue reds, royals, bright colors, go figure. But I look horrible in any shade of yellow. Anyway, I love your picks, both in style and the patterns to go with.

Not sure if you picked your winner yet, but if not, you could have everyone who submitted entries post their entries in their Stories and tag your IG handle. Give everyone a range of dates to do this. When you click on their post, you can verify that it was submitted/posted by your original deadline. I'm guessing all the hashtags will be hidden until Jan 20 too. Annoying, but I can see why they are doing it.
@TomKatStitchery4 жыл бұрын

This is a completely random comment ... but a long time ago you, I think when you were doing the 'show me your stash' questions, you showed a fabric with large knitted loops that you said you weren't sure what to do with. I was just looking through some of the Paprika Patterns (side note, her Jasper sweater pattern is fantastic, probably my most favourite thing I've ever made) because they are on sale right now, and I came across one of her blog posts for the release of one of her cardigans. And it looks like she made it up in a very similar type of fabric. I thought you might like to see it just to see what that fabric looks like made up. Scroll down, you wil see it, it's a off-white colour. paprikapatterns.com/new-pattern-opal-cardigan/

Oh my gosh! That does look the same fabric and it looks so good made up as a cardigan! Thank you for sending me that!
