I don't know I feel like a a 50 cal anti-material rifle like Beretta m84 A1 ( I think that's the right model) and I mean for going against the racks I mean I don't think you're going to need particularly spectacular aiming capabilities you can shoulder those if you're a small persons going to knock you on your ass but good shot to the face I'm sure would at least deter it a little bit. I don't think it would kill in one shot unless you hit its brain but otherwise I really feel like it would be enough to deter it from trying to attack you further

Last I checked, a T-Rex had bony scales, not ARMOR. Rifle rounds would rip right through them. 10 soldiers with rifles (and apparently infinite ammo) and body armor would easily kill a T-Rex, so 80,000 soldiers would easily kill 8000 T-Rexes. That simulation sucked.

Damn, those are some really good T. rexes, which I was not expecting from this game. Like they have lips and chonk and non pronated wrists. Even minimal shrink wrapping! Looks like the dev(s) really did their research and I appreciate that :)

My bet is that they just buy up models, which isnt a bad thing or nothing. Buy (and this is just a guess) i assume the rex model is just made by someone who knows what theyre doing, which they made availible for purchase. Then it was bought etc etc

@@wildlifewarrior2670 That’s actually still up for debate. One theory I’ve heard is that they had feathers as juveniles and lost them as they grew because their increased body mass would allow them to retain enough heat that feathers weren’t needed.

Well you know I don't know how this game is going to do it I know how this game works. Take about fifteen soldiers to ensure a Rex kill the reality it would only take one person with a sufficiently powerful firearm yes our modern rifles are plenty I dare one of those to take a anti-material rifle.

There is or was a story on line called the Armageddon War by Stuart Slade. It had a well described battle between demons and humans. The demons had rhinolobsters for the cavalry (more like scorpions as they had tails) and harpies for air support. That would be something to try if you are feeling ambitious.

I think just the t Rexs running directly into the men, not even biting, would make them victorious because I feel like the average one could squash twenty men before being killed. Not to mention the moral factor of being a man with nowhere to run and watching a viking army of t Rexs coming your way.

Even using regular assault rifles can't take down a Tyrannosaurus Rex alone. You'll need some heavy fire power. Maybe bring an M1A1 Abrams tank or two. Or maybe the old M60 Patton

To be true, the T-Rex would never had a chance of winning against so modern soldiers. Why, when you look at the beginning a lot of soldiers were firing out of the bunkers. Then they left the bunkers to get distance from the T-Rex. But why? They were perfectly save in the bunkers. The T-Rex would never been able to attack them in there. So this fight made no real sense. ;)

In many ways, I think WWII soldiers would do better against the T-Rex herd than modern soldiers would do. In WWII, the American GI had the M1 Garand in .30-06 caliber. The Soviet soldiers had the Mosin Nagant in 7.62x54R caliber. The German soldiers had the 7.92x57mm caliber. The British had the .303 British caliber. While the rate of fire would be less with any of these rifles than the rate of fire with a more modern rifles, all of them fired heavier, sturdier bullets that would be more lethal to large animals. Modern NATO rifles fire the 5.56 NATO caliber, and the communist bloc countries have mostly used the 7.62x39 for a long time although they have transitioned to an even lighter bullet. Some NATO rifles are chambered for 7.62 NATO which is closer in power to the old .30-06, but they are still less powerful. If the soldiers had been using the rifles of WWII, preferably the M1 Garand, they'd have been better able to inflict mortal wounds with fewer shots. They couldn't shoot quite as quickly, but they could shoot quickly enough to put down the dinosaurs more effectively. I would also have put the soldiers on the hills from the beginning. If some had been on the hills from the beginning, they would have had better angles for shooting the dinosaurs. More of them could have shot more effectively from the beginning of the fight. Those heavy bullets hitting the dinosaurs from the beginning would have started dropping dinosaurs almost immediately.

You didn’t say what weapons the soldiers had. If they had just 5.56, then that wouldn’t have been enough, but I would have armed them with 50 caliber machine guns. Also having some A-10 Warthogs flying close air support would be good.

Modern soldiers? A modern army would include artillery, mortars, tanks and air support. Most likely the army would use land mines. I wonder how the T-Rex would stand up to a wing of A10 Warthogs? A hundred or so Abrams tanks? Sending any size force armed with little more than nerf guns against the T-Rex is silly.

The modern troops only had automatic rifles? We’d have choppers, tanks, etc. Adding just explosives would’ve changed the battle. It’s not accurate to call them modern troops. Tactically diminished troops is more like it.

This is a fun video! Thanks for making it! The one hold out i've got is that it seems to assume that a front line would hold. I'm not questioning the bravery of your virtual men, but rather the tactics of the T-Rex. Assuming you get them to charge at all I don't think they'd stop at the front line to take a snack, I think some would stampede over the front line and start trouble in the mix. Their mouth isn't their only weapon after all. THEN, and only then, would I question the tactics and bravery of those little virtual men. With tails flying, giant bodies crushing, even as they die, it'd be a different sort of fight. (and yes, obviously humans would probably have better tactics than stand and sometimes step back but I didn't come here for the soldiers alright?)

Entertaining, but that amount of automatic weapon volley fire, armor piercing at that, would annihilate the Trex front lines and create piles of corpses that would significantly slow down, if not completely demoralize the Trexes. Classic struggle similar to armored cavalry charging archers/arquebusiers, right? Knock down a few lines of the charging cavalry, and the ones behind them rapidly join the pile of corpses. If a couple front lines of heavy cavalry get into the infantry or archers, the shock of the lances and horses hitting creates piles of corpses there. Carnage either way.

It's quite funny, but because the opponents are T-Rex, it's unrealistic anyway. But, what is more, is that the soldiers can shoot max. the first 3-4 rows. The others behind would otherwise meet their own comrades. Also, they couldn't shoot continuously because the weapons would overheat or they have to reload from time to time.

Yeah, maybe if their bullets were made out of rubber. In real life a single intermediate-to-large _metal_ bullet with good placement would be enough to kill or turn back a T-Rex. Any living animal would certainly not be able to proceed faced with multiple hits like this. "Hit Points" don't exist in real life - it's either a critical hit or it's not.

The T-Rex was not as big as this video makes them out to be, and they did not have armor plated skin so those high powered rifles would have started mowing them down before they hit the front line.

unfortunately the t rex is not realistic. 5 or 6 shots max will kill a t rex if shooting it in the head. Modern Rifles are not to be messed with. Literally holes get blown into concrete.
