In infinite war he wounds him and Thanos says “you should’ve gone for the head”, and at the start of Endgame when Nebula and Tony get back to earth Nebula tells them that he always said he’d retire to “the garden” after and then they find a surge of energy on a random planet that matched the energy from the stones after the snap and they go to the planet and Thor decapitates Thanos there and says “I went for the head”
