I just wanted to say I love this video. Seeing the joy on your face as you go through these boxes and your enthusiasm about the different books was really sweet and made me feel happy. You have so many memories of picking up these issues, and that's really something special. I'm jealous you met Todd McFarlane! He was always a favorite of mine when I got into comics in the early 90s.

Wow that was a quick reply, thanks mate. Personally for me since space is an issue, I got rid of all other Physical Clutter EXCEPT Comics/Mangas Tpbs or HCs or Omnis or Boxsets etc. I may buy Game Disks but not to collect & only for few select modern games. Otherwise my entire home is basically a sea of Bookshelves filled with tons of Comic Tomes that may run out of space eventually lmao. I also Read Comics Digitally on Tablet for super long series with too many volumes & for portability when going on a long road trip (I may still bring a suitcase full of Comic Volumes tho HAHA).

I love the simple coloring of the older comics. in the 80's and 70's the inking was so strong that you didn't need so many flashy photoshop colors. 80's was also the era comics got darker.

Wow Spiderman 300. That comic had value back in the 90s. I traded the neighbor kid a bag of Doritos for his Amazing Spiderman 300 comic because it was a Todd McFarlane and I loved the artwork... Good times :)

This is actually a really great video with some excellent stories thrown in for good measure. I'm not much of a comic book collector, but its nice to see some of the comics that were released during the 1980's because since I was such a huge 80's cartoon fan it was nice to see what kind of stories regardless if they came from a tv show or toy made the transition into comic book form.

Great to finally see somebody shared the same enthusiasm/passion of going to the comic store in the 80s! Having grown up in Australia, our New Comic Book Day was Friday which meant Saturday morning getting up really early to go into the city to get my weekly new releases Even though I adapted to New Comic Book Wednesday fairly easily when I moved here, I do still miss the ritual of starting the weekend with new Comics. I even still remember some weeks where my brown paper bag was chock full of comics it ripped.

Italian guy here, born in '92. I got into comics 'cause my uncle (he's probably your age) was a huge comic book collector in that period, so I stepped into his McFarlane's Marvel and Image books when I was really young, I could barely read! But I was amazed by him and he was definetly what draws me into comics. I still follow something (Image for the most, but since I got less time I'm slowly quitting) but Todd McFarlane was a huge deal for me and I was really happy to hear your story with him at the convention. I really wish I will meet him someday and I hope not to panic like you did eheheh! It would be nice even just to thank him for the inspiration he still is and for the fun it was reading his stuff when I was a tiny little kid. He was like my standard when I should've read Mikey Mouse (like Italian kids did/do) and even if I'm changed and read something I like most, the first Spawn run and his Spider-Man stories will always be my first love. Thanks again for sharing that moment, like right now i know how nice he could have been if it was me... the kid (I still am) just envy you a lot for that memory! :)

My childhood as well in those boxes. I still remember going to the local convenience store to pick up my comics while my dad picks up his beer. I loved Cerebus and his cameos in the Mirage Studios Ninja Turtles comics which I managed some how to get since I was 9, even though my parents would have thought over wise if they knew it was nothing like the 80s cartoon. I love Transformers, yet always had soft spot for Gobots as underdogs and they have even appeared in newer Transformers comics, even though mostl for comic relief. Still have fingers cross for rumors of Cykill coming back as a Zartan like character. On of my favorite 80s/90s memories from DC has to be the Legion character that could pull his own arm off. I remember starting to read New Mutants when Cable was introduced and it became X-Force. Robotix actually became a mini series that ran during a separate cartoon on Saturdays/Sundays. There is even the entire series lurking on KZbin combined and edited into a 2 hour movie. I could go on and on about how much I loved the stuff from this era. Liked, shared, and favored.

Nice! Thank you for introducing your collection. It's really cool to see all these comics which I had never heard of. Being from France and a kid of the 90s, we did have a few American comics on sale here but not that much. I think think the reason is that Europe already had a big comic book market of itself. One of my favorite French comics must be The Incal by Alejandro Jodorowsky and illustrated by Moebius. The story is wild and inspired many of today's sci-fi movies. The original storyboard and artwork was supposed to be used for a Dune movie which would have preceded Star Wars and Lynch's Dune. Only to be canceled... I totally recommend it! Have you read some European comics per chance? Anyways thanks for the cool videos, I always enjoy them^___^

I love going seeing your videos where you go through your old stuff. Very interesting hearing the old stories. A minor detail, Void Indigo was not baned. It got negative press and was meat with criticism (not only from groups outside of comics but from comics critics as well and from distributors as well). The second issue got a smaller print run and was then dropped by the editor in chief at Epic comics Archie Goodwin. If you want to get into american comic books again I would suggest TPB. Many comics both new and old are released in trades. You can get a lot of Batman and Daredevil stories from the 80s, 90s (from 2000s and onwards everything is almost collected in trades even though not everything is in print anymore). It is easier to read and is easily stored on the shelf.

NetConsole I meant that in most movies/shows of that type the Steve Harrington character would have been portrayed as pure evil but they actually gave him a bit of depth. I'll leave it at that as I don't want to spoil for anyone. The kid stuff didn't feel forced to me. I don't think it was some sort of masterpiece or anything, I just enjoyed it. I didn't have super high expectations going into it as a lot of people did so maybe that helped. Again if you didn't care for it that's fair enough. I found it flawed but fun I guess.
