I love these 80's commercials...these are really the good times.

The actor and actress in the Lancers commercial look a bit familiar to me. This was my favorite year of the '80e for me. April was the winding down of my Sophomore year in high school and the upcoming of my Junior year in August with a great football season. Enjoyed the music, TV shows, movies. Thanks for the uploads, they are greatly appreciated!

I believe the actress is Harley Jane Kozak. Not sure about the actor.

Y'know, for a random, local movie presentation, this volume sure has a lot of great commercials! I can't help but wonder, what "Saturday Night Movie" were these commercials for?
@80sCommercialVault10 жыл бұрын
"Harvey" with Jimmy Stewart, which probably has not been aired on any station outside of TCM since. KTLA might technically be a local channel but it's a local channel in one of the largest TV markets in the country. Most of the ads they'd show would be much the same as any other network. Also, it was "Movie For A Saturday Evening" not night, because it aired at 6 PM.

He is best known for playing Maxwell Smart on "Get Smart", and that is clearly the character that these ads are referencing.

Those donuts at Winchelle's look WAY better than the ones you see at Dunkin Donuts nowadays. Than again, this was before restaurants started becoming "health conscious".

Loooved the Fire Bird Trans Am! Poor Mans Kit. Most 80s cars looked like 50s boxes w/o the fins and style. Not the trans am.

Where do all these commercials come from? Did you record TV specifically for the commercials? This is fantastic.
@80sCommercialVault10 жыл бұрын
The commercials in these volumes come from stuff people recorded off of TV. Shows, movies, etc. Not just tapes with just commercials. When people record stuff off of TV, a lot of them don't have the time or patience to edit out the ads. Or maybe they recorded something while they were out of the house to watch later. I take these recordings and with the magic of what we call "editing" keep just the ads. And then I post them here and make snarky comments about them. Some of it I or members of my family recorded, but most of it comes from stuff other people have shared. I was born a few weeks after the ads in this volume aired, so no, I didn't record the ads seen here.

Ya, I collect recorded VHS and put them on KZbin, too. But one of the most infuriating aspects of my hobby is when I find a recording and then discover that all the commercials have been edited out. My hopes really get dashed when that happens.

"Still kind of perplexed at the idea of Phyllis Diller being a paid spokesperson for a hardware store. It's almost as random as that episode of "The New Scooby-Doo Movies" she was in" In the history of celebrity endorsements; they don't get much more unusual than that (especially for a local firm as opposed to a national or regional one).

Hmm, I think this was the year we went to Las Vegas on vacation. Interesting place and rather odd. Circus Circus was especially neat as it was crammed from wall to wall with arcade games. In the center was a ring where an little person fought an Kangaroo and acrobats performed overhead. Dirty souvenirs too...I wont even get into detail in regards to the "Genuine Las Vegas Horny Toad".
Hmm, I just noticed that it got taken down by a copyright claim by "Little Dot Studios" (A UK media company) for a Just Right cereal ad. I submitted a counter claim and hopefully it will be back up soon.
