For those asking about the chords: Don't listen to the keyboard. It's playing the same thing all the time. Listen to the bass. In the verse bassline goes in two bar blocks. The first three chords are Em, C, Am, and then the next two bars are divided to two small fills, figure out the timing yourself. first small fill is (C, D) and the second one is (G, Am). When I wrote (X, Y), I mean that those are in one bar, just for fugure reference. In the chorus I couldn't figure out the chords but I could figure out the bassline, which goes (C, B), E, (C, B), E, (C, B), A, D, and then we get an accidental of D# (not sure about the chord on that one) which is not in the key. then it goes back to verse. But if the others are in the key, everything else is in major except A, B and E are in minor. TLDR: Tempo ~139 Verse: Em, C, Am, (D>C) & (G>A) Chorus: (C, B), E, (C, B), E, (C, B), A, D, D#
@Marunius9 жыл бұрын
***** D# is in the harmonic minor mode :) Perfectly resolves into our root through either a B7< or for instance D# Major if we're in the blues pentatonic.

If you improvise using the notes in the B Natural minor / D major scale but concentrate on having E as the root note, then you are actually playing E Dorian mode. This works since E is the second note in the D major scale. I find the best sounding for me on this track is to alternate between improvising in E natural minor and E dorian. The dorian mode can often sound cool over a backing track in a minor key!

Really cool backing track. I like how the key is that sort of ambiguous switching thing that a lot of metal bands used to do (because they didn't know better) but it's kinda awesome when it works. Try B minor and E minor. Some parts suit both, some parts only suit one
@creationsofmindRS11 жыл бұрын

@machinehead89111 жыл бұрын
It's in D Mixolydian. play a D note, it sounds like the root. The reason why A Dorian 'sounds' good is because both modes come from the G major scale. you can play a A Dorian scale and not be in dorian. If you had a C Lydian progression (This scale also comes from the G Major scale) and then play the A Dorian mode position.. all the notes will work as they're the same notes as what's in C Lydian and every other mode within G Major.

@Starsmuse11 жыл бұрын
Well if you want to get technical, if it sounds good to you, it's right. If you can play more than just eminor over and it sounds good then thats awesome. You are right in that a dorian can fit, but i was just pointing out that if you follow just the root chord structure it is e minor. You should post a response doing some a min, a dorian stuff over this, that would be cool to see.

Use the natural minor scale. In this case E minor. It does you just have to know what notes to use for this kind of music. Combine it it a little pentatonic too. :)
