What a great ride! I've ridden the Flume Trail, which was amazing, but I'm a roadie in NJ, so I don't see scenery like this. This video only reinforces my desire to retire in the Reno/Tahoe area.

This is a helpful and fantastic video. A lot of work put into creating this backpacking route. Thanks to Ted and Trevor and their team! I've known Ted since he was 24 years old and teaching at Donner Trail School on Donner Summit (1967-1969). He has always been like this. An amazing individual for certain. The big Convict lake ride is coming up early June 2023. (June 17 start date) Carson City to Convict Lake. Stay tuned for that.

So crazy, I live in Reno, & am really immersed in the biking community & bike weekly with Bike Night Reno! & I see this guy everywhere in town, we've a legend, I didn't know he puked this off, which I am planning to do as well to celebrate not letting Covid take my life twice in 2021, & still "trying" to beat Long Covid, but been working hard at it, last year was my first year on a bike, a month after getting my bike I sold my cars to fully commit to taking my health back, & rode over 8k miles just around Reno & Sparks, so many beautiful things I've never know about my adopted home, Reno, things you can only find from a saddle of a bike, & a lil exploration! I will do this ride in the middle of next month, & as stupid as it sounds, u want to try to set a lil friendly competition & so a "speed run" to Vegas, & see if I can make it around 20 hours, but I guess this is what I've been training for, no turning back now, I bought a whole bikepacking kit in 3 days of Amazon, & it's all packed up, just waiting to go!!!

You know anyone doing this route soon? I'm looking for another person or 2 to do a bikepacking trip with, as I'm experienced in riding bikes for long periods, & camping, but not with the 2 together, & after almost dying in 2021 from Covid I sometimes push myself too hard, so worried about doing a solo for my first big trip

@@ReVolt_e-Vlogs Sounds like a plan and about maybe where I will be in a better place in life to do so. I moved here to Nevada in October of 2021; I am a native to San Diego CA. So far I love this state due to being closer to natural environments and camp grounds, etc. Either I will keep tabs on you or you can contact me through my KZbin homepage but yes, I definitely need a riding partner as I have been desiring to do a local bike tour anywhere since 2016. My inspirer was Darren Alff. And I just continued to watch and learn from the rest here on KZbin. I did one trial excursion back in 2016 and the short I distance I did I had a blast :). I have two small dogs that will be coming with me too.

No e-bike in 2022. Ted rode his 2016 Niner Air 9 RDO. In 2023 Ted is planning on riding the Reno-Vegas on an e-bike. Which e-bike would be best?
