The 6th gen Camaro SS 1LE really feels like the successor of the 5th gen Z/28. Z/28 came fitted with 305 section square tires on 19 inch wheel, carbon ceramic brakes, Redbull F1 technology Multimatic dampers & an LS7 engine paired with a brilliant 6 speed manual. Never seen one of these in the wild. When this car was released, it put the USA back in the fight for handling. Everyone was surprised that a “Camaro” could do such things. Chevy has as good of a racing pedigree, if not more than most of the Europeans. These are some of the best drivers cars out there. You don’t know till you drive one. Oh yea, car was so good that Chris Harris even bought one, nuff said.

This was the only reason Ford built the GT350/350R. My ultimate dream Camaro, always wanted one and a C6Z just so I could H/C/I/E an LS7. The 5th gen SS handled way better than most cars back then and this was just even better. It’s a shame they’re talking about axing gen 6 Z/28, it was going to have the DOHC FPC 5.5 V8 from the C8 ZO6 with at least 600hp. Breaks my heart Camaros aren’t selling, they need to address the styling. Any way I digress, love those ‘14-‘15 Z/28s. Was that one supercharged? I know it would be a stretch to get 800hp without boost.

@@samholcombe3129 I’m am extremely sad about them killing off a 6th gen Z/28 as well. That car would’ve been absolute killer. This car was supercharged and cammed, a good amount of work done to it. Owner said everything he modded could be easily converted back to stock.

@@StirlingMossDrives I kinda figured it was supercharged I think 750 is the very max for N/A LS7, such a nice car though. Just my opinion but 5Gen Z/28 and C6Z are the 2 cars that I would not boost, LS7 is just such a great N/A engine

@@samholcombe3129 I agree with you. I’m a purist and was a little upset that it wasn’t stock. But it was very interesting to see.

Living vicariously through you and everyone on YT with badass rides like this. My sister had a 1979 Z/28 in the mid-‘80s. Canary yellow with a black teardrop hood. Paid for by my parents. My brother had a 1978 Camaro running 10’s in the quarter. Paid for by my parents. Me, I had a peace of shit 1974 Chevy step side farm truck (not the badass Farm Truck) that I paid for because my parents put all their money into my sister and brother.

It’s mind blowing people stereo type this brand because of the price… they should be praising GM for giving us SOOOO MUCH for such a fair price.

@@StirlingMossDrives honestly how do you feel about the C8
@StirlingMossDrives3 жыл бұрын
@@The_Drive_Inside I think it’s brilliant. I like the looks of the C7 more than the C8 but man, wait till the new Z06 comes out with it’s flat plane crank 9,000 rpm rev limit. That will be the modern Ferrari 458 and will smoke everything. Can’t wait to see it!
