Won’t hold the power as well as the old 2JZ’s though. Hyperutectic pistons, thin ring lands and powdered metal rods aren’t hardware for high power boosted engines. 1000hp is fun and all but better plan your budget around a new short block before the stock one lets go.

Unless really setup for race conditions a street tuned NA engine of any brand is only likely to see 100% VE ie 14.68 lbs @ sea level. So the Mustang 5.0 at 1bar sees and extra 14.68 lbs and is breathing in 10l. At 2 bar it would be like a 15l engine. Thats about as simple as the math can be...

That GT500 must be on crazy low boost to only be making 800hp...There's guys making that on FBO and E85 13/14 GT500. For some reason, people just like spending money on a bigger blower when the stock one would get them to the 800hp range. There's a tuner from Lund racing that said a guy made 823rwhp on a FBO E85 13 or 14 GT500. Only reason you should be going big blower is if you're planning on building that bitch.

@@mach183 Yeah, but if it were me, I would spend the money on a fuel system, go E85, and stay on the stock blower and make the same power a big blower gt500 makes. Plus, ~800rwhp is about the limit of the 13/14 gt500s. Anymore and you're risking the motor, so there really is no point in getting a bigger blower until it's built up. That's just my opinion, I'm sure there's plenty of people making more power on a stock motor that don't give a damn if their cars blows up or not. Hell, they're probably waiting for it to blow just so they have a reason to build it lol doing that is more expensive though.
