What I think that this video teaches us, is that you don't need computer-aided design, or all sorts of complicated things, to build a model train. What you need is metal, a jigsaw, a soldering iron, a hammer, a punch, a vice, a ruler, a few bits of wood, and maybe some other items. You obviously need a lot of time and patience as well. And you need to practice. But as the saying goes: practice makes perfect. It's obvious that the poster spent many years perfecting his skill. However, the video is very clear about the steps he takes to come to a finished product. I find the video inspiring, because certain models are in the wrong scale, or simply unavailable. For example, I would be interested in having some more Japanese models (other than the Kato Shinkansen E5 Hayabusa), but in 1:87 scale, to match the rest of my collection. But they either don't exist, or they are very expensive. A journey of a thousands miles starts with a single step.

@@jacekhozejowski2869 you only need a known reference to deduct the remaining dimensiones, for example, I use the height of a door frame, the diameter of a wheel, etc. Obviously you don't get exact dimensiones, but if work with care you can obtain a fairly good aproximation.
