see this is the kind of 80's look that my friends and i did, not that side ponytail and leg warmers that a lot of people do when they are trying to recreate an 80's look. we did wear darker lipstick though, a dark maroon or bergundy color. this is more of the later 80's style. you did a great job and so did the guy who did your hair

Nice! Rock On! One question though: whenever you set your liquid foundation with powder, why do you call it a powder foundation versus a setting powder? While it is true that we do other terrible things to animals the reason i personally hate animal testing is how useless it is, we eat animals to survive and animal testing for medicine saves people's lives. Animal testing for cosmetics achieves nothing especially as it is avoidable and most of the chemicals they test have been tested a million times before and so we already know the results.

Yes, but volunteers can be hard to come by. I would never want to risk being hurt by a product. Would you?? Besides, if you want to end animal testing on cosmetics, you should also want to end it in ALL FORMS (such as in medical testing, product testing, etc.) Furthermore, animal testing (which does not always leave the animal dead or debilitated) is not as bad as other things that us humans do to animals (like KILL THEM to eat them).

I'd just like to throw this out there: Would you rather a human or a mouse have their skin ruined by an experimental foundation? Companies test on animals (usually rats or mice, though nobody ever seems to care when scientists use them to test other things) to avoid hurting humans and avoid lawsuits. It's also considerably faster to test on animals. Using animals for testing is really no different than using them for their flesh (do you eat meat?) or their hides (leather, anyone?).

All I'm trying to point out is that testing cosmetics on animals is not the worst thing we do to animals. You are completely ignoring the fact that we, as humans, slaughter helpless animals to eat them, skin animals to make leather, and test on them, not only for cosmetics, but also to test medications. I'd like you to offer an alternative.

It’s also cheaper to take skin cells from a person and grow their own slab of skin to test the product on, but cosmetic companies won’t do it because they’ll lose money (yes, I watch ARA vids). There are some cosmetic companies that don’t test on animals, and it’s on an ARA website. Those are the companies I buy from.

I have a book with makeup looks from the late 70s - early 80s! And I LOVE to change some things to make it more ok for 2012, but still 80s. And the eyebrows in that book just .. *scream* Thick, straight and have not been plucked for ages. But that was the "cool" thing back then xD

This is not really 80's makeup. It's a bit more modern. Blush was pink & lips were usually a dark pink or red. The eyeshadow was also very messy. Also the blush was applied heavily and hit the temples. Trust me... I'm an 80's baby. ;)

i don't think it was intentional. wearing such heavy eyeliner is definitely going to change your eye shape but I don't think she was trying to look "white", i think it was just for the whole rockstar thing

Finally, companies DON'T use toxic and corrosive chemicals in their makeup because they TEST THEM. That's the point of testing. If they knew what was going to happen, they wouldn't need to test!
