- Jennifer got recast because the original actress declined to return to the role: at the time her mother was in treatment for cancer, and she decided to be at her side. - The Chicago Cubs is a baseball team that had the longest period dry of titles at the Major League Baseball in the US. In real life 2015 the team indeed reached the World Series (the final series of games that decides the title), but lost it. They won it in 2016, ending over a hundred years of frustration. - The first movie was filmed as a stand alone movie, but it got so wildly successful that the studio executives ordered two more. One thing that Robert Zemeckis always says is that, if they were planning to do a trilogy from the beginning, they wouldn't bring Jennifer to the future, as she doesn't add anything to the story. However, Parts 2 and 3 were indeed filmed together, as they realized it was better to make the story cohesive that way.

The practical side of it was not only multiple channels because even Picture in Picture didn’t exist in mainstream in ‘89… but there were no real good large sized televisions then… 27 inches was about as big as a typical family tv went for years until they came out with LCD TVs… and projection tv wasn’t great for quality either.., a lot of family projection TVs were a frenal lens and a small screen tv that the lens would simply amplify to larger via mirrors…

The reason that old Biff is clutching his heart as he gets out of the Delorean is that he is being erased from existence! A deleted scene shows him fading away, like Marty nearly did in the first movie. The word is that, in 1993 (alternative timeline), Lorraine finally murdered Biff in revenge for all his evil, incidentally with the same gun he used on George in 1973! So Biff essentially ensured power and money for himself...at the cost of his own life!
@beterbomen9 ай бұрын
In a cut scene from the movie, when they're leaving 2015, we see old Biff collapse behind a dumpster, and then disappear - like Marty was about to in the first movie. The Cubs did also win the World Series, but in 2016 One of the kids at the video game was a little Elijah Wood! The reasoning is that if someone wants to break into your car they are going to do it regardless of if its locked or not. I'm from Canada... In the 80's, NO ONE locked their doors. You could leave your bike on the front lawn all night and it would still be there the next day... Times were different.

They only filmed part 2 and 3 at the same time in 1989. Part 1 was filmed in 1985. Part 2 was released in 1989 and part 3 in 1990.

Texaco was also in the first movie, a scene where you see a car get several guys servicing a car, but in the early 2000's was absorbed into Chevron

Mary Nike actually created self laced shoes in 2015. During Jimmy Kimmel Live (American Late Night Show), both Michael J Fox and Christopher Lloyd (Marty & Doc) did cameos at the opening celebrating 30th Anniversary of Back to the Future. Michael worn 1st self laced Nike shoes.

Kudos on the Tom Wilson appreciation. He's actually supposed to be the nicest guy but his performance was so convincing (if not dramatic) that being cast for future roles became challenging to say the least...people thought he was ACTUALLY like that. Also, anyone else see Elijah Wood in the cafe 80s scene? 😅

God I loved this franchise. I was born in ‘76 so I got to grow up with this and Ghostbusters and all the other greats. Back then going to a movie was so exciting, it was an event in my family, even if we just piled into the car to go to the Drive in we loved it.

Kill Biff's kin in the old west? Bite your tongue ! 😉If they did that there wouldn't be no BTTF, and I wouldn't have been able to watch Zemeckis film the shotgun porch scene with Marty and Strickland in this sequel. I was coming home from my nightshift job and noticed really bright lights in my neighborhood, so I walked over and was thrilled to discover they were filming BTTF2. I can just imagine my younger self there watching in awe. Watching others see this for the first time is the next best thing to me seeing it the first time, thanks.

My favorite thing about this installment is going back into the first movie from a different perspective. It was stunning how they recreated the Enchantment Under the Sea four years later. Part 2 gets a bad rap for being too complicated and all over the place. Yeah, it's the crazy middle and often frustrating, plus it ends with a cliffhanger. But the 1955 portion alone makes it a fantastic movie. Not the brilliance of the original, or the spectacular finale of the third. But it certainly doesn't deserve any of the hate some people give it imo.

Ricky & Morty, of course, were based on Doc & Marty. I liked Elisabeth Shue more in The Karate Kid, but my favorite of her movies is Adventures in Babysitting. In 2015, the Texaco (Texas Oil Co.) station was still there, just as it had been in 1955 in the first movie. We had one in my hometown too, growing up. "You can trust your car to the man who wears the star - the big, red Texaco star!"

5:10 Texaco -- short for the Texas Company, an old gasoline company. It merged with Chevron a couple decades ago, and Chevron is the brand name we see all the time.

The movie did predict some things correctly like the Cubs winning the World Series in 2016 just over The Cleveland Indians, not Miami. The nikey power laces are real, my friend has a pair. They cost a few grand though lol. Nice reaction Mary, I look forward to your reaction for part 3.

There are parts in America where people did leave their cars unlocked, windows rolled down, even keys in the ignition, garage doors open, etc.. I remember my first visit to Oregon back in the 90's, went to visit family just outside of Portland, in Gresham. You would see this at any shopping center. Then more bad elements started moving in, theft/burglary went up. Now you don't see that anymore, unless you're in San Francisco, where it's so bad, people leave their cars unlocked, windows rolled down, doors and trunk open, showing thieves that there's nothing of value in the car, so they won't smash their windows. Yeah, true story.

You made mention near the beginning that Jennifer looked familiar. That’s because Jennifer was now being played by Elisabeth Shue, ‘Aly with an “I” from the Karate Kid. Claudia Wells, the original Jennifer, had personal matters to tend to, so she dropped out of the role. “So, you’re the SOB stealing my newspapers”. By 2015 the circulation of subscription newspapers delivered to homes was already on a steep decline. Events, local and around the world, were already hitting the internet within minutes of them happening. Physical newspapers were reporting ‘old news’ the day after and were becoming increasing thinner. Unlikely, Mr. Strickland would still have a physical newspaper subscription delivered to his doorstep.
