uber eat my ass It sounds dated just because of the 80s synth and drum sounds. The arrangement itself is more "mature" with pretty clear jazz fusion influences. Play it on a real horn section, use more modern sounds for the drums and synth and this wouldn't sound dated at all.

This 80s kind of sound actually came back already tbh. If you listen carefully, you'll discover that the sound is back with only less punch because the record labels are engaged in this 'loudness war' and as a result the songs are losing its punch. And the approach is still modern but the arrangement is pretty 80s-ish.

I remember this song playing in the limo that I saved up to rent for me and my prom date, junior year, 1985. It was like a pure coincidence that it was the song that played at the very end of the night, and me and her danced just like we were dancing in that limo hours before. Now when I'm 49, I still dance the same to it, with the same girl, and now my very own son. Those were the good old days :)
