I remember this singer. Her name is Katheryn Hudson (born 1954) and she was famous singer in the 1980s. Katheryn had a lot of hit songs including "I kissed me a girl (1981), Hot N cold (1982) , but she was well known for her songs “California Girls" and "Teenage Dream" in 1983 which they became her biggest hits and her signature songs. 27 years later, her daughter Katheryn Hudson Jr covered "California Girls" with rapper Snoop Dogg and it became a hit again in 2010. Because she didn’t want anyone to know her famous mum, Katheryn Jr adopted Katy Perry as her stage name and also she didn’t want to get confused with actress Kate Hudson. The male who is rapping in the song above is Calvin Broadus, who coincidentally is the father of rapper Snoop Dogg!

Her voice fits so perfectly to this 80s style. It's so amazing. In general, it's so crazy how these 80s vibes are making this and much other modern pop songs so much better. Pretty sad that I wasn't born in this time. I love the 80s music.

Remember when she performed in Live Aid back in 1985 with Snoop Dogg? I was there in Wembley Stadium with my wife and they put on quite the show! Unfortunately their performance was overshadowed by the other artists and any recordings of it were lost to history but in my opinion they were the best! I've always wondered what happened to Katy Perry since then. She seems to have completely vanished from the music scene after that event. Some say she staged her disappearance to live a quiet life in another country, others said she actually died from a drug overdose with her funeral being top secret. Only Katy herself knows the answer.

Till 1982 when she announced her 2nd studio album Like A Teenage Dream and it was on the track list. I remember listening to this track over and over again when it was released in 1983. I still have the Album to this day.
