July 29, 2024. Our Spotify in the 80s was basically turning on the radio listening to the latest albums on the radio. of course with commercials. Our Playlist was blank cassettes filled with our favorite songs!

Gilbert I’ll be 48 in August you have a few years on me. I live through your old videos and kick myself for not doing the same growing up. My mom died of cancer in 1995 I was 19 she was a young 41. I wish I could go back and watch videos of her.

My Spotify was a Walkman. I still remember the way a tape cassette clicked into place and the sounds of the "door" and the feel of the buttons as you press down to get the tape to play or rewind. I miss all of it!

The time to listen to music is when you're at home. If you're feeding that stuff to your head when out and about, what's special about it? That's a time you should pay attention to what you're doing and be available to HEAR PEOPLE WHEN THEY'RE TALKING TO YOU! I've seen people hit by cars, even a BUS! I mean, who doesn't hear a BUS coming? Then if you make it home, you don't even want to hear those songs anymore.

Dj Mixes recorded on cassettes were also a way we use to listen to different songs we liked. most people knew a dj that made mixes and sold them or gave them to you on a recorded cassette. or like you said we would record songs we liked from our albums, 45 or 12 inch singles. I actually miss those days, made me appreciate music a lot more than today.. the best quality of music came out before all this easy music streaming we have now

Screw spotify. Put that Fisher system in her bedroom with one speaker at her right ear, and the other at her left ear. Put on an album and crank it up. Nat needs a job, instead of out-of-word Dad paying for her spotify. Santa Gil, you are too nice about stuff like that.🎅

I use iPods as my main listening device. Nobody can call you on an iPod and disturb your listening experience.

Spotify is cool, but your just renting the music & dont own any of it & they can remove it @ anytime. Unlike your records, cassettes, cds & custom made mixtapes u own the physical copies to enjoy @ anytime. Great idea for this video Gilbert!🙏🏽💯

Facts that's how youtube music is too there today gone tommorow

“Renting the music” lol so you would rather walk around with a walkman and 100s of cds so you could “own” the music 😂
@WillM.2 ай бұрын
That’s why I like iPods. Once you put music on there it’s on there forever

@@WillM. facts It just sucks because you still have to collect c d's to do that Do they even sell ipods anymore
@WillM.2 ай бұрын
@@Jac735 Apple themselves don’t sell them new but you can find them easily on eBay or other websites. They used to be dirt cheap but now they are collectible and a little more expensive

One thing about 1980's radio vs 2020's radio is there were far less commercials back then. I listen to Spotify simply because there are less commercials. I don't pay for Spotify either.

Spotify kind of sucks too because they edit and also have stupid remix versions. They must not have rights to full songs. I use an internet radio app. All the decades and genres you need

I don't do spotify or things like that,I gave up cable and my land line phone in 2018,so I don't do anything unless I need it,I am 57 and will be 58 in October,I have to save money and put it toward the real bills,I can find music anywhere,I have a cell phone that has everything I need,but it did not cost a lot,I used a corded phone most of my life,later on a cordless phone,I do have internet that went up on me,when I can get rid of that,I will.
