I found your channel last year, I have to tell you that I really enjoy your content. HOWEVER some of it makes me sad. I grew up in Glendale and moved to Pacific Wa. because my Dad was at the end of His life. The only place He could get was a Veterans Hospice home in Port Orchard, I didn't want the distance so I moved. I MISS L.A. A LOT, I don't miss the heat though. THANKS FOR YOUR EFFORTS, KEEP UP THE GREAK WORK. Please don't change the way you narrate, it is more appealing to listen to someone when they are "real" instead of hyping things up.

Corkys was the place with fond memories. I lost my virginity in the parking lot in 1978. We met some older college girls cruzing Van Nuys Blvd. I was 17. Wow what a great time back then to be young.

That’s so cool that your car was in a movie. Crazy times for sure. Glad things are getting better. Lots of history in the SF valley. A block after Chase bank on Laurel Cyn. I remember the 97 NH shootout. Sad to see Corkys gone, even tho I never ate there or knew its history. I also found some addresses of game companies in old video game magazines, is crazy to find out that I’ve been or work at some of the same buildings. & I actually worked at Warner center. Thank you for all your work documenting all this places. Stay safe brother!

@11:26 Do you remember what was there, north of Oxnard before the Orange line was put in? I've lived in the neighborhood for an eternity but can't remember what was there. I think it was an abandoned part of the Los Angeles River, or abandoned train tracks(?)
@Mpg-gh5fq12 күн бұрын
I think it was just vacant land for a few decades, and a train track before that. Terry Lumber Company used to have a store a little ways to the east, at Reseda & Oxnard, and another one by the still-active train track at Reseda & Parthenia.

I agree the gate thing at the park is very strange! Must have been set up before the fires I would assume. Doesn't look like a quickly slapped together emergency job. Separate from that, maybe strangely/maybe not, one of my earlier thoughts when I heard about the fires, especially when they seemed like they might "jump the 405" (sorry if this isn't actually relevant, I'm not from LA and don't really know how things are laid out) was I hope Kurt and his family are going to be ok, and less important but still significant, I hope so many of those great locations I saw through his videos aren't going to be destroyed!
