Slapping super high prices on all the vintage toys will only result in them sitting there for years and collecting dust. I know the sellers want a good profit but there should be some middle ground. 🤷🏻

I grew up in Rowland Heights and the Wednesday and Saturday trips to Frank & Son were a MUST especially for hard-to-find bootleg dvds, custom tshirt printing, posters and so many collectibles! A great place to go xmas shopping.

We would always go to Frank and Sons and then we had to do a Tommy's chili run on Fullerton Rd afterwards. That was our tradition

I've been going to Frank & Son for years, ever since they were in the old location. This one is definitely bigger and better. It's like a Gen X toy museum. That's really cool seeing the He-Man and WWF action figures. The princes they're asking range from affordable ($40) to unbelievable ($200). These things used to cost a few bucks new in the store, and are basically just plastic and rubber. It's the nostalgia that you're paying for. One thing that's changed is there isn't anymore bootlegs being sold anymore. You used to be able to get them at the old Frank & Son. It was stuff you couldn't find in a proper release. My friend got a Johnny Sokko and His Giant Robot compilation on tape, and I was able to find the '80s Hulk cartoon. My other friend bought a bunch of GI JOE and Transformers cartoons there. We didn't have streaming or anything back then, and I think this stuff has been released on digital now.

Great Video! I went on Saturday with my son! It was great buying Transformers from the guy at the end of the first aisle you went down. The bad thing was the weather and the rain gutters had water rushing down them like a water fall! I got soaked walking to my car because hey who needs an umbrella in LA right?

I actually have been going to FnS since before their last location. They were a trucking and warehousing company and held their “show” in the extra warehouse space. It was the go to place for my friends and I in the mid-90’s when playing/collecting some of the various trading card games. I live about 3 hours from there now so I’ve only been to the new place twice. Do the lines still wrap around the parking lot when it first opens?

Usually prices at franks are decent because there’s a lot of competition at franks. Once in a while there’s a unicorn and it’s super expensive. There’s one particular dealer who has tons of older toys, but their prices are ridiculous. (They are right up front) and although I like looking at their items I have never bought from them

I had a dukes of hazzard and chips lunch boxes. I wouldn't pay a penny for those funko pops, they're so ugly. Someone gave me the cheshire cat one once, and I gave it to someone else. They don't look anything like what tney're supposed to, and they all look alike. People started buying them for the sole purpose of having something to make a video about. They're just a waste of money and space, they're never going to be worth anything. Im glad companies started making action figures from older movies and series, though. The 1/6 scale ones like hottoys are insanely over-priced, though. But then what isn't these days. Lot's of cool vintage stuff in there, though! Love to have an 80's surviver bmx bike.

Thanks for sharing your visit there. I assume those Thrashin' figures are custom? Don't recall ever seeing those. One reason for card prices increasing (sports & non-sports) is due to grading and flipping during covid. Those places end up just being window shopping. They can shove those prices up their arses. I still have some loose Karate Kommandos, Karate Kid and Rambo figures for great prices!
