Holy Crap! Scott Vestal is amazing.

Vestal on banjo is at the top of the game and the other solos on guitar and fiddle were top notch.

Patrick McAvinue knows how to put out the entertainment. Some real accurate fingering there...Scott was killing that banjo!! Keep up the good work!

Oh man, Scott Vestal! He's one tricky player - and egregiously underrated imo! Seems like we should see him a lot more for how good he is. Thanks for sharing this!

Honestly, these older great players just don't put themselves out there on the modern platforms enough.

How did I miss this. I must've been dead. Okay, Scott is amazingly fast. My friend Matt Cruby, formally of Steve Gulley and New Pinnacle plays a stealth. Another great musician.

I and my banjo picking pal of 44 + years, Wayne Harris, live in the DFW area of NE Tx where Scott and his brother Curtis grew up. Curtis is now in the auto business in Cleburne, Tx. Back n tha day when Scott was just learning his craft, he used to pester other bnjo pickers to teach him their hottest licks. Looks like he learn't them well + a few of his own. Anybody notice Dailey and Vince and Tyminski on mando?

Here’s what I love about Scott, he plays traditional style (sorta) in a very innovative way if that makes sense? He gives the best of both worlds! Definitely one of my favorites! Thanks for the vid Russ!

I was lucky to meet Scott and pick with him in the ‘80’s when he was with Southern Connection. It wasn’t long after that Doyle Lawson decided to hire their band! Scott has gone on to be a “trailblazer”!! Great vid! Thanks!!

Wow, that was fantastic. A great group of musicians jamming. A few famous, some underrated and others nearly unknown. Holy smoke all I can say is that these guys can really play.
