Re my phase out question - "702.25f When a permanent phases out, any Auras, Equipment, or Fortifications attached to that permanent phase out at the same time. This alternate way of phasing out is known as phasing out “indirectly.” An Aura, Equipment, or Fortification that phased out indirectly won’t phase in by itself, but instead phases in along with the permanent it’s attached to."

Also, safekeeping targets a permanent. So I think the aura could've survived that way too. Love the deck! Keep up the amazing work!

Tamiyo's Safekeeping could have saved the enchantment. I believe that's counted as a permanent!

Yep, tamiyo’s safekeeping works on any permanent, lands included. So enchantments, planewalkers, artifacts, anything your opponent targets can become hexproof with it. I ran a Naya enchantments deck when I started on arena last year, safekeeping saved me many times 😅. I initially thought tyvars stand would be an instant replace since it also offers the temporary buff along with hexproof and indestructible, but after trying it in a few decks I switched back to tamiyo’s because I didn’t realize how limiting only being able to target creatures is! I was spoiled by the safekeeping lol.

I loved the deck tech and how you explained the card choices. I think people are too infatuated with an auto win combo. This type of deck makes a lot more sense to me also.

THANK YOU! Somebody finally gets how this deck should be constructed. I see people all the time trying to run this as a dedicated poison deck and that’s not what rotpriest does. I do actually run the green march in my version, but I use it as a fourth creature with upside.

I agree with not having March of Burgreoning Life. It feels like a win more at best. I do really like having Fauna Shaman (Brother's War reprint) to help the deck combo off more consistently as well.

WRONG. you keep one mana up for protection, then when they tap out you get another rot priest in on the sly. This is flash 101. Imply one threat and use another when the opponent plays around it

So I use Rot Priest in my Simic deck, but instead of Drake shenanigans, I use Ezuri and Tekuthal to make all my proliferates double and draw cards. Then I fill out the deck with Thrumming Birds, Voraks, Canker Blooms and Bloated C's for the proliferate triggers on the cheap. Always have creatures for the board, cards in hand, and even a couple of the new T Rex copies if I need to ramp up for a toxic finisher. Deck works really nice handing off Rotpriest spells to damage/proliferate double duty creatures. ( I use Aspiring Ascents for the ideal Turn 1 rot Priest, turn 2 Rot Priest and Ascent and attack. Opponent at 4 toxic on two mana from me before they lay down their second land!)

Reached mythic this month with a similar deck. I think audacity is much better over security bypass. For a few reasons. It's cheaper(can hold up protection), if the creature is removed you draw a card, and the extra 2 dmg/trample is relevant in some games. Also, I run bloated contaminator because it's great in the mono red matchup which is one of this decks worst encounters. Also mono black and soldier decks can be troublesome. This isn't an easy win deck as often as people think but I hope my input helps someone somewhere. Glhf guys 😎

How would you edit this deck now? I have this exact deck and I just find it so 50/50 some games it just pops off hugely and other games feel cursed from the draw - constantly seem to have mana issues

/decks/dNPmCokSn0-OwH-Siv3Fjw (moxfield) Try this Abzan I built my friend, Turn 3 kill with Skrelv, Jawbone, Venerated Rotpriest, and Nec Communion in hand. Necrogen rotpriest in there for flavor and to finish the opponent if needed, so sub if needed. She's a 22 lander which is good considering the low cmc. You can mess with the mana base since I'm broke and spend my wildcards on other stuffs. Hopefully you like. Cheers!

I originally tried the version of this deck from another mtg youtube guy, one that not-so-secretly plays blue. I was totally all in at the beginning of the season, and was very disappointed by it. I had basically given up on it. I just went 5-0 with your version, and finally (ironically) lost to the the Azorius Mindspliace Apparatus deck I saw by that same other youtuber. Also, in his defense, his decks usually seem to play well for me

Another possible approach is additional midrange cards in this deck, like bloated contaminator, and poison synergies, like distorted curiosity. Also, could see splashing white for anti-aggro tools.

This is actually a genius deck that was right in front of all of us. I saw LegendVD make a deck with some similar fixes that had a good win rate. But every other KZbin video of simic toxic reported 70%+ win rate and it was all kinda inflated.
@hugoguerreiro1078
@hugoguerreiro1078 Жыл бұрын
If you play a 47% winrate deck at the time everyone else is trying out 40% winrate jank your winrate will be inflated. That's why you have to wait to see which decks are actually good.
@blueishgreen76
@blueishgreen76 Жыл бұрын
@@hugoguerreiro1078 There is also the issue that Simic Toxic has a high rogue factor that leads to it steamrolling players that haven't seen the deck before. For example, most RDW players will make the mistake of trying to remove a venerated rotpriest instead of transitioning into face bash mode.

To me any deck that wins that much is not good for the format. I like it when there are quite a few great decks, not just one or two that run over everything. It makes the game stale and boring.

@blueishgreen76
@blueishgreen76 Жыл бұрын
This falls in the same realm of a lot of control, control-tempo, and combo decks. You only notice what the deck is when they hit. The deck type usually doesn't register when your opponent mulligans twice play 2-3 land cards and then resigns because they have nothing to work with, which is probably 25% of games with this deck.
