I was in a tough spot once and had no gas or money, i needed something to put gas in and couldn’t afford a gas can from the gas station. I had stopped by to ask if they had a can for me to borrow.. they had a 3 gallon gas can and it had some gas in it, they said take it and keep the can, “young man like you ought to have a gas can” I went back on payday with the gas can filled up but they refused to take it back. They probably don’t remember that act of kindness but i always will.

When I got my big red, white, and blue bumper stickers in, one of the first places I stopped was at the Stokes Brothers Garage. They put one on their old Ford pickup that they drove until I guess it wore completely out. That old sticker was still on their back bumper for about the next 20 years. :) That was the only bumper sticker of any kind that I ever saw on their vehicles.
