I'm pretty new to the podcast, and I really enjoy Eric - Who is Conrad? I had to stop listening almost immediately because of the shitty passive aggressive nonsense. OH BROTHER, THIS GUY STINKS!

Conrad used to book former wrestlers, not to wrestle at local Indy shows or to make appearances, But to hang out with him and his friends at his house and watch wrestling. Seems weird, But to each their own. He paid former wrestlers to come hang out with him and talk wrestling. So he made lots of connections doing this. He also married Ric Flair’s other daughter, (not Charlotte) so he is Flair’s son-in-law. Im not sure if he met her through his booking of wrestlers or on his own before that (someone else can answer that). So once he had all these connections, specifically with Flair and Bruce Pritchard, he started doing podcasts (around 2015-2016) and talking about what happened in the past. His podcast with Bruce Pritchard was a pretty big success and he added new guys and started doing more and more. He kinda developed this format of talking wrestling on podcasts with former talents/backstage guys telling stories about the past. He owns a mortgage company with his family, or his family works for him in Alabama. Pretty innovative guy.

The Toni Storm segment can’t be called a “story” that’s a reach. It was an angle, and it may have been booker a year out. But there was no narrative, no rising action or falling action, this angle just HAPPENED and came out of nowhere. If you want to call it a “story” then it just started with the heel turn from Mariah. Now only time will tell if they actually make a narrative out of it

He didn't say it was a year long story. It was an angle that was booked to happen how it happened a year ago. Tony wanted Mariah to be mentored by Toni for a certain amount of time, have Mariah win the Owen tournament, destroy Toni, and set up the title match at Wembley. That also requires Toni having her angles booked out long in advance to ensure she has the title on her and doesn't have any other feuds happening so Mariah had a clear path. Wrestling is so rarely booked that way anymore.

That's not what he said. He said Tony booked it to happen in the way it happened a year ago. He knew he wanted Toni to mentor Mariah, Toni needed to win the women's title, they needed that match at Forbidden Door, Mariah needed to win the Owen, do the turn on Toni that same night, and set up the match at Wembley. It didn't take a full year for all that to happen, but that was the plan for the Owen Tournament and Wembley that Tony came up with around this time last year.

Any wrestler who's anybody has been through that territory at one time or another. They barely stayed alive through a pandemic that saw ROH and NJPW close it's doors, but they kept trucking. TNA is about to go on another long run of success with the WWE as it's working partner this time. Slammiversary 2024 marks the beginning of that run.

You clearly don't know wrestling. Historically, that's how it works, the baby face would be betrayed by a friend whom goes heel, and get heat, while the baby face gets sympathy. Toni was a heel, but because of how cool her 60s character was, fans started to cheer, and they had no choice but to book her as a baby face. She is so over now, it doesn't matter how you book her, the fans love her character that's it.

I just starting watching every aew dynamite since 2019 and one thing I noticed for sure was before the pandemic aew was a good show with good story lines but post pandemic I must say other then punk and swerve it's been pretty mediocre, just the way tony introduces big stars it always the same shit. If I had the book for aew I could turn that product around in 2 months he just doesn't know how to utilize certain talents in the right way.
