This bathroom is very original! Even the original Olsonite toilet seats are intact. This was originally a Hudson's department store. Now, It's a Macy's.

I'm just shocked at how nice those toilets are! I was afraid they'd sound loud but they were pretty nice and the swirling made it great

Nice, but sure shows limescale quite well.... Must be a ritzy place! Had a friend's wife who spec'd black fixtures in the downstairs powder room. I asked why and she said "in upper echelon society it's proper to hide the sight of 💩". Well, excuuuuuuse me! Now if only she could get black TP....

Macy's has been remodeling a lot of there stores lately. Unfortunately the ones that were remodeled out here had newer fixtures installed. Including a bathroom with rare Kohler Kingston urinals and Kingston toilets. Good thing I filmed it.

That would be quite a find! I've never seen a Kingston urinal.

@@vintagekohler6085 Definitely. Unfortunately the only ones I've seen have been replaced. Other than other videos I've seen of them I am not aware of where any more do exist.

Absolutely stunning!!

Stunning is right! There is something just luxurious about all the luster and sparkly reflections! I've noticed that It's important to have good lighting with black fixtures and lighter walls. I knew of a bathroom once with a black Kohler Memoirs. A beautiful toilet, but the whole rest of the bathroom was fairly dark with black stone floor and gold leaf, brownish wall paper. The whole room sucked the available light which wasnt great to begin with. The toilet didn't stand out and sparkle like it should!

Model 2477, a carryover from F-2477 with a Olsonite 10CC (pre-Bemis acquisition). These were produced from 1967 until 1997, but the 1.6 model (2257) was not until 1992 when it became produced in tandem with the 3.5 model (2477)

Cool fixtures! I am yet to come across colored flushometer fixtures, besides the baby blue crane fixtures at a local hospital (you have to be looking to notice a difference) The only colored tank toilet I’ve seen installed was a pink 1954 Wellworth at a friends house, but I’ve also seen plenty of them uninstalled

Did you know that many different Macy’s stores are closing across the country? I hope that store isn’t gonna close. My Macy’s is supposed to close.

Also, out of curiosity, since you said this used to be a Hudsons, have you been to any other Hudsons stores? If so, do they have any particular fixture patterns?
@vintagekohler6085 Жыл бұрын
I've never been to another Hudson's. There is a video of some black KK Water Guards at a store that was built as a Dayton's. Dayton's owned Hudsons in the 90s and I'm guessing the 2 stores were pretty similar. It's kind of confusing but Hudson's started out a a huge many level department store in Downtown Detroit. Dayton's started in Minneapolis and they bought Hudson's out at some point. I believe Dayton's also launched Target. Anyway, Here are the Kingston Water Guards: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qYDZaIeCmdJ7hdU
