Nice. I plan on getting an old C10 later on myself. I am preparing to put my AC unit back together in my '71 Skylark over 4th of July weekend and saw your video for ideas on the box. Hope your project comes out the way you want it to. I'm glad I'm not the only person looking to add or fix AC in their classic. I'm so tired of people telling me to just roll down the windows. I'm in AZ and in 95+ degree weather rolling down the windows does nothing to cool you off, its like a blow dryer to the face!

I have a 75 k10 non ac truck that I am converting to ac I cut an over size piece of firewall off a factory ac truck in the wrecking yard cleaned it up and traced it out on the firewall of my non ac truck then cut it out of my truck and welded it up. no issues bolt holes and everything all lined up and it's all good. easiest way to do it by far.

Thanks for the info and yeah that is probably the best way to go about doing it. Not sure if this truck will ever get AC.

You could always cut out the firewall and add the correct piece!

Buy the under dash conversion for the A/C and heat.

I have actually decided not to swap AC into this truck because I don't use AC much either and I don't feel like cutting this truck up just yet. I love driving with the windows down and the slider open anyway

you have to cut out a new hole and patch the existing hole and you will have to swap out the wiring harness as well I am in the process of swapping mine over. I have an 84 with no power steering or ac, I bought an 84 with ac power steering for parts and removed all the ac components and wiring and swapped it over. I can send you some pictures if you are still working on it

I am also doing a swap taking the ac and power windows/locks out of a 1977 and putting in a 1978. If you have any info for me it would be greatly appreciated.

I just did a swap from a 84 Silverado to my 84 Custom Deluxe power windows and door locks. I took the doors and the wiring harness which was separate form the main harness out of the Silverado and put it in the dash of my truck. Had to cut the holes for the wiring to come in from the door into the cab of the truck. Took a day to do it. Not hard at all. The hardest part was lining the doors up. Just look at the old truck and see how things are done.

I have an 84' and an 85'. I'm using all the best parts of the two and building the 84'. Anyone know if the A/C & Heater core are the same? I'm hoping to just move them over to the 84'. (Actually a 73' with an 84' cab on it)
@ClassicGBodyGarage12 жыл бұрын
I didn't know that. I would guess that you can tell them by the casting numbers. Any idea?

you need to consult a C10 page. You might have the larger compressor

Hello!! would you please explain how did you remove the lower Ac Duct driver side ???? thank you
@ClassicGBodyGarage5 жыл бұрын
If you are referring to the one under the drivers steering column its just held in with hex head or phillips screws.
