Love it! Ambient is so much more challenging to make than it appears at first glance, but with practice and a smart build like this, the sky is the limit!

Thanks! Yeh, I agree, Often there’s a misconception about how easy it is to make, I always say with electronic & modular music, you have the freedom to make almost any sound you can think of, the thing is, there are a lot of less pleasant sounds you can make, a lot of noise surrounding the signal, if that makes sense! 👍

That is a really good and straightforward way of thinking about putting together a small system. Thanks!

Cheers! That was the intention, simple ambient, generative, stereo small build!! 👍

Amazing sound, beautiful and well crafted visuals, straight to the point and very informative. What's not to like? 🙌

Thank so much!! Got a few more videos with this system and I’m working on building another totally different small system in the same case too 👍😀

Thanks for this gentle introduction to a perfect little system. Very therapeutic!! 😊

Thanks Probbie!! I had fun coming up with this little system (it had to include Tagh & Morphagene I think) but I’d like to build a one or two more small systems, I have some ideas, will do in the future! Glad you enjoyed it! 👍

Great stuff! I swear, restricting yourself boosts creativity

Cheers! Yeh totally agree, I think I’m going to do a few small system builds taking different approaches, really fun to explore totally different small systems I think!

Look forward to it

It most certainly does. I just built a 2x62HP ambient machine and this is inspiring me to try to do an even smaller one. My poor wallet..
@megamodularis2 күн бұрын
Yes go for it! For this build thankfully I didn’t have to buy any new modules (although I was tempted with a 2HP dual VCA!) May be worth trying the exercise of making a functional system in less HP with the modules you already have? That was kind of my idea with this build anyway! 👍

@@megamodularis That is a great idea, cheers! I have a problem of really "getting into" buying stuff whether I have money or not. I like this concept instead :D

Thanks! I had fun setting up this clean set for this video series! Thanks for the kind words!

I love this. You have really beautiful close-up shots. The music is really pretty too. Does your Morphagene get noisy? This mix is really clean as far as I can tell. Mine is really loud and I always wonder if I'm the only one. More please!
@megamodularis2 күн бұрын
Thank you Novak!! I have a couple more videos in the works with this system so stay tuned! You know what, I do think my Morphagene can be a little noisy, I think in this context with more sounds going on, the noise gets lost, have you tried the auto levelling thing? That sometimes helps, although for this video I had a few noise issues setting up with the auto levelling, but I think I got it sorted in the end!

As somebody that is into pedals and not having any eurorack (but curious), I appreciate seeing a small selection of modules for ambient. Very informative but also beautifully presented. What case did you use? Cheers
@megamodularis3 күн бұрын
Thanks! I’ve yet to really get into pedals, but there’s definitely a few I’m interested in, like some from Chase Bliss! Glad you enjoyed the video, I have a voiceover explainer in the works if people would be interested- talking through my thoughts & decisions for this little build! It’s the ALM 3U 84HP case, I don’t know if they sell them ready made, but mine was a kit, really easy to put together, solid and good power etc!

@ thanks for the info! I have the Chase Bliss Mood MKII and it’s one of my personal favorites that I would highly recommend. I’m also looking forward to the Habit and Onward as well.
@megamodularis3 күн бұрын
Yeh, I like the look of the mood! I’m interested in the generation loss Mkii too and the Habit too, hopefully to use with the modular or the OP-1/OP-XY too!

If only small could equate to inexpensive!
@megamodularis2 күн бұрын
I know!! Sadly not! Although from memory the small case was ‘fairly’ good value, if that’s any consolation! My first ‘case’ was a uZeus with some rails in a DIY cardboard case! That was fun 😀

I can't figure out the power bus system? What is it?
@megamodularis2 күн бұрын
It comes with the case, so takes up no HP, from memory, when I assembled the case, you stick it onto the bottom of the case, just plug in the connectors, it was pretty easy! (The case is the ALM Busy Circuits 3u 84HP aluminium case)
@AgingHipsterDadКүн бұрын
Could you please tell me what case this is?
@megamodularisКүн бұрын
Sure! It’s the ALM Busy Circuits 84Hp 3U aluminium case, mine was a build it yourself kit version- very easy to build and a good size with a good power supply! 👍
