My dad was Canadian 2nd Commando Unit. And he kinda put me behind a rifle at about the age of 5. I have been shooting ever since, everything from plinking to Oympic 3P style. Both my dad and I love your videos. You put things in a simple, "non-pompous", and straight forward. I have been shooting for 3 decades, and dad has been shooting... much much longer, and we both learn new things from EVERY video. Thanks so much for taking the time with this.

Great vid! Love the old school feature length as well. Thanks for taking the time to cover basics, without skimping on advanced details as well.

Big fan of Impact Data Books! I really like their pock (cargo pocket) sized modular for field work. I still use the regular book for consolidating data. One thing I do is I laminated some sheets like the sketch, reticle holds, overhead range card, and call for fire. This way I can use map markers and re-use the sheets. Particularly the reticle holds for specific shooting events. Saves me from having to stock up on these sheets.

Great video. I have been using a .22lr conversion from cmmg in my ar15 for about 2 years. I love it that I can run just about any drill and not have to pay for ever increasing .223 ammo. I also have an older Remington model 597 .22 bolt gun that has helped me out so much with my shooting. Because I dont get to shoot my 700 30-06 as much as I like to, again because of ammo prices. Again great video and i enjoyed you whole series of videos from the SHOT show.

Thank you for another great episode! I'm limited to 200 yards (300 during the summer) here on Long Island with the closest long range facility being out of state. Its so hard to practice wind calls on my .308 with such a short range so it looks like the .22 could help me out. Not to mention the excuse to buy another rifle.

Watching now, I shoot a Savage FCP-SR and just picked up a FV-SR as a trainer. Went with that becasue they both have the same accu-trigger and both are bolt action with oversized bolt handles. Keep up the good work with these vids and thanks!

Great Vid. Really great topic that I hadn't seen discussed at length. This topic is a great versatile topic that crosses over from tactical to F-Class. The F-Class is what i'm looking to get into and this really helps me understand what my options are with the 22. Cheers

I have the MKII tr and love it! I have shot around 1,500+ rounds out of it. I do find myself short stroking the bolt on my 700 sometimes, kinda a hard habit to break. Keep up the good Vids!

So about the comment about women. My girlfriend had never shot anything larger than .223 at this time. I was in the market for a .308, so she surprised me with one for my Bday. But wait there's more! I was sighting in and she asked to fire it. I gave her the rifle with a full mag and a 8rnd stock pouch "shoot what you want" she said she was nervous if I watched so I go catch a smoke. When I returned all 13 rnds were gone and she had an ear to ear grin. I found me a keeper!

Question: When you set your Kestral to station pressure and then shoot a range session to you go back in your data book convert it to back barometric pressure by finding the attitude of where you were shooting? There is also a rainbow shaped page in the impact data book called sniper range card how is this page when shooting.

Another great episode! I agree about not letting someone shoot a firearm they can't handle. There isn't anything funny about it. I'd love to get out and shoot, but I'm about out of ammo and I can't find any. Stay safe.

John, I shoot MOA/MOA on my main training rifle. I shoot mostly tactical and I hunt. I range with my MOAR Reticle. I also usually run second focal plane. I understand and use MRAD but I really love my MOA/MOA second plane scope and I do not mind ranging at full power... I see better at full power. Seems everyone just loves first focal plane Mil/Mil and I do not see any great advantage to it - for ME. Your thoughts? PS. thanks, this is my first comment but I like all of your videos.

I have a Remington 700 .308 in an XLR chassis. I was looking into maybe purchasing a Mark II TR because it has an enlarged bolt knob like my Remington. The only thing that conerns me is that the stock will not really match my chassis. Do you think that would be a problem or just something I would need to keep in mind while shooting?

On the Ruger 10/22 rifles what is the average or best accuracy you can expect at 50yds and 100yds using match ammo or ammo you buy at the store??

What kind of 22 Match ammo do you use. Also what is your thought on 17hmr. I am looking at the savage tactical line of rim fires and am leaning toward the 17hmr

I'm glad that you said that about women. I get very pissed off when guys will hand a smaller framed woman a double barreled shotgun or something with a heavy kick, then think it is funny. Then you can't get them to go shooting again. I started with my g/f with an AR15/22 just to break her in and now I can't get it away from her.

Relativity new to rifle and long distance shooting. Been working on fundamentals and feel like I am beginning to get settled in. I noticed the last time when everything felt right and I had the scope zoomed in the reticle is pulsating ever so slightly. Guessing that is my heartbeat. Is that normal or am I doing something wrong?
