SEC Headquarters, Makati City
June 22, 2023
President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. joins the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in celebrating 85 years of its milestones as the country’s Company Registrar in a program at the SEC Headquarters in Makati City on 22 June 2023.
The SEC acts as the Philippines’ corporate registrar by virtue of Commonwealth Act No. 287. Enacted on 3 June 1938, the Law authorized the Commission to perform all functions relative to the registration of corporations and associations.
In fulfillment of the government’s objective to improve the ease of doing business in the country, the SEC has accelerated the implementation of its digitalization reforms, expanded online services and made them more accessible to the public.
During the program, the SEC officially introduces its new digital services that will make the registration and monitoring of corporations across the country even easier, alongside a capital market initiative that will allow more investments in the agriculture sector.
These include the Electronic SEC Universal Registration Environment (eSECURE); Electronic SEC Education, Analysis, and Research Computing Hub (eSEARCH); SEC API Marketplace, Electronic Registry Application for Market Participants (eRAMP), and the SEC Check App 2.0.
Also forming part of the program, the President, together with Department of Finance (DOF) Secretary Benjamin Diokno and SEC Chairman Atty. Emilio Aquino, inaugurates the new SEC Headquarters through a digital unveiling of the facility’s marker.
