Thank you for taking your time and explaining every single step that you took to design this ornament. It really helps me to follow along and get comfortable with inkscape.

Thank you so much for your willingness to share your knowledge. My Glowforge has arrived (used your code, thank you!) and I hope to get started this week. I will be referring to your videos for much needed help….I know nothing😬!

Absolutely! Glad you have been finding them helpful! I felt overwhelmed when I got mine first as well, but Im sure you will work your way though. I mainly bought files at the start, but slowly started designing my own over time. Thanks again for using my link! Happy printing!

I have purchased a couple of your downloads have love your videos. They are so easy for us that are new to inkscape. My trouble is that I'm good up until I Union my Circle (hanger) to my ornament. then my circle turns into a dot. What am I doing wrong?
@85thandPine2 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much Tammy, I’m glad my videos are helpful!! Instead of Union, maybe try exclusion for your circle. So, ungroup everything first then go to Path - Exclusion. Let me know if that helps!

Hey Catherine, I'm thinking about getting a glowforge so I'm watching alot of related videos to learn as much as I can. Question : can I use images from noun project to make a businesses logo for myself or a friend? Not to be sold. Also you mentioned if we sell the items we used the images to create wed have to pay, whats the cost?
@85thandPine3 жыл бұрын
The cost for the noun project is $40 a year. You have rights to use any images on there for whatever you like. Whether that be business logos, or selling items. A great deal on my opinion. I use it all the time.

Consider organizing your "How to videos ...* using KZbin playlist, so you can make easier to your subscribers find content and promote related ones 😉 Good video. I know your teaching yourself digital design and for that ¡ Bravo! 👏🏼

can you use regular svgs with glowforge

Yes

@@85thandPine What do I need to do to make it compatible, do the svgs have to have an outline?
@85thandPine2 жыл бұрын
@@tiffanyw3794 SVG’s are automatically compatible when uploading it to Glowforge (you just need to save it as an SVG before uploading it to the app). But if you upload an image or icon to Inkscape that is not compatible, you will need to go to Trace Bitmap under “Path” to make it editable and compatible. I have a trace bitmap video if you need it... m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/i4qZlZyChtFnmbs

Can you use this file as a file to sell as an SVG on Etsy?

If you create it on Inkscape, you can sell whatever you design you come up with :)

Can you use chipboard?

Hi! I’ve never personally tried this and am not sure if it’s compatible with lasers.

why does my Christmas tree and inner circle disappear when I press Union? Exclusion doesn't work either.
@85thandPine2 жыл бұрын
If you are making your own circle on Inkscape and having issues with it, you can download a circle on nounproject.com and use that instead. Otherwise, you can try to use exclusion on just your circles, then unify the tree afterwards and see if that does it.
