Your videos are awesome, informative, and relaxing to listen to. I just picked up one of these a an antique shop for $14 in great shape once I cleaned oiled and sharpened. Thanks for the video!

Another great video. I'm glad I found this. I just bought a Camillus one online. It's in great shape, and functions like new. I was actually looking for a Colonial version, but these are much more common, and you can generally find them in better shape.

My father gave me a TL-29 as my second knife after I broke my red rider pocket knife. I think I was 8 or nine years old. What a great edc work knife. I carried it for many years, many years . I have a new one and love it. Brings back many memories.

I love those TL-29 knives. I have a Case that may have been made by Camillus. Great EDC blades!!

I bought a black handled one and the bail was also broken off. The brass liner lock is also broken off and the scraper/screwdriver had been modified into a clip point blade. Glad I was able to find this video to see what it should look like. I’ll be honest, I like the knife better without the liner lock and with the clip point blade. I do wish it had the bail still.

I have an old Camillus TL-29 that my first cousin once removed carried as a Seabee in the Navy during Vietnam Conflict. Lots of patina, staining, wear and tear from the tropics over two years. Unfortunately, the main blade tip is snapped off from prying at some point in the past. These knives were worker bees, and at times shared, so I am not surprised. I have yet to put an edge on it as it would be a challenge to slice a pat of butter...Ha Ha. Anyway, it is a family heirloom and not an EDC knife. Thanks for sharing this information and your personal TL-29 collection. It appears that they can be obtained for on average $10-$15 in used condition.

I love hearing the stories of these knives! Thank you for sharing, it's so great that you have one with a real history. I think it's price is less than it's worth.

Klein Tools still makes and offers new ones, available on Amazon. Great option if you want to use one and don’t want to risk hurting a historic original.

I'm in the UK and find these harder to find than obviously would if in the US but i have got several over the years and have heard it said that this is the most mass produced pocket knife pattern ever on one type not sure but i think there were six million or so? I may be wrong though? I do like to use it more so recently as im liking the more traditional patterns for a change to the swiss army knife.

Mine came from my grandfather, who carried it in WWII, I was given it in 1968 by my grandmother as my grandfather passed in 65 and wanted me to have it but I was only 5 when he passed.. still a very solid knife, but I don’t carry it as it has value to me..

I take the bail off. I hate it when the blade closes on it.

I’m surprised mine is the civilian version. My grandfather was an electrician with the Air Force for over 20 years and he’s the one I got it from. Either way it’s cool as shit and I’m glad I inherited it from him. I love the second utility blade. I’m going to put it to good use.

LoL That's cool, I wanted to grab the ones from the mill I worked at before they tore it down but somebody beat me to them. I think these knives are still a real bargain in my opinion.

I just got a Klein at the flea market today for $5. It's in much worse condition than you're blue one, it obviously got something corrosive on it.

You can still get these for a reasonable price, used. Any one else have one?

I'm 62 and have carried this style of knife my entire adult life., starting with one I lifted out of Dad's dresser drawer. I am a mechanic and this style of knife serves me well and I feel kind of naked without one in my possession. I still have the 2nd one I carried for years until it got both loose and the spear point blade has been sharpened down almost to an awl. (slight exaggeration) It's stays in the too box at work as a backup. I've owned several but the Camillus brand knives seem to have that "just right" feel, quality of blade and is a good fit in my hand. The electricians knife seems to have fallen out of favor and is hard to find in stores, thank goodness for ebay and other sources for these old, high quality tools that serve a useful purpose.
