This was the only music I grew up listening to in the mid 1970's.. into the present day.....Soulful...a bit spiritual... uplifting... encouraging...they deserve a Grammy award too..👌🌹🌹🌹

This is so soothing I cannot believe I'm only finding this now💔. KZbin has done me wrong this should've been recommended long ago....I wouldn't give up my roots for any other ....Proud to be of the Zulu nation even though it wasn't earned it's all just chance.🙌

Have been listening to this song for years. The King Star Brothers had another video of several of their live performances that has since been taken down. Wish I could find it again and enjoy more of their music

My late Brother used to listen to this song, getting it from cothoza mfana may his soul rest in peace. Anyway the song is wealth to be listened.
This song is taking me back to my high school days when I was in Grade 9, back in 2005. It's amazing how many memories flood my mind as I listen to this song, reminding me of my "cothoza mfana" days. 🔥🔥🔥

Is there an English language translation available? I always teach about isicathamiya in my college music classes in New York City, and always show this magnificent performance.

Well, not a direct translation though but just the summary of the song. It’s about appreciating & praising the heroes of our democracy in SA, dating back to the times of the kings. The song further mentions some of the notable heavyweights of the heroes who defied all odds in pursuit of human rights, social justice & democracy: President Mandela, Dr Mangosuthu Buthelezi, Chief Albert Luthuli, Dr JL Dube, Walter Sisulu, Prof Robert Sobukwe, Steve Biko, Chris Hani, Gen Bantu Holomisa. Although most of them are long gone but their legacy remains forever. That’s what the song is basically all about 🙏
