This performance took place in November 2011 during the First International Accordion Festival in Beijing, People's Republic of China (Nov 15-20). Frank sadly passed away 3 1/2 months later on March 3, 2012.
NOTE: two of the chamber group selections are incorrectly labeled: the first selection is "So in Love"by Cole Porter; the fifth selection is "In A Minor Mood".

As a millenial, I appreciate his accordion playing. I also consider him the Don LaFontaine of the accordion. We all know the sound (in films and commercials) but we may not know the name. When I was at the Las Vegas International Accordion Convention on the Deiro Youth Scholarship in 2003, I mentioned to Frank that I was nervous and he said that's good. I also remember the lunch we had together with my mom and my accordion teacher Manny in downtown Boston (after performing the Cheers theme song) during the American Accordionists' Association festival. He loved how I told him the parrot joke by Pete Barbutti.

Thank you so much for posting this. Frank was a master and this is one of his best. Jazz accordion does not get better than this. What a great life he gave us. I was lucky to see him play up close and personal in the 80's. Wonderful man.

When we played at weddings & Barmitsvas, Frank would dress up the tunes with MAGNIFICENT chords & "hip" styling to make the music way better than typically, "corny" party stuff. RIP, Frank.

I'm a pianist who used to live and work in Las Vegas, under the name of Bob Long. I always heard about Frank, but never saw him until youtube. What do you play? After You've Gone is my favorite Frank video on KZbin. You must be great to keep up with Frank! Just kidding. I"m sure you're great on your own. I used to play with George Mantchev on drums. Or Aziz Bucater. Are you a Las Vegas player?
