This table arrived well packaged and on time. kzbin.infoUgkxn94T8Mu1iMnsLCMNOI9srXSsLkI4JXKW Like another reviewer advised, I pulled everything out and made sure everything was included (everything was!). I built it alone and it took me about an hour. The color is great and for the price the lift part works well. As others have mentioned, it’s not the smoothest opening/closing, but it works. The screws do show, but I plan to order white sticker covers if that bothers us too much. Really happy with this table! UPDATE: it’s been over a year since we got this coffee table and we still love it! It gets HEAVY use as our dining table, foot rest, and school desk. Over time, the opening and closing mechanism has gotten smoother. I added a new photo with the white screw cover stickers. They blend in perfectly and make it look a little cleaner. 100% recommend!!!

Mix plaster with a whisk…. It gives a super smooth consistency. Also add a half cup of water and mix occasionally so it doesn’t dry up in the bucket. Attach legs with deck plates/mending plates they are like 0.97

Hey Jenny ! What kind of deck plates do you use? Would be super cool if you could send me the website where you order them. Thanks for the tips and have a great day :)

I would suggest using 2 rows of tape on the edges , slightly over lapping in the middle and then fold the excess over the top side and bottom side so the tape edges are folded over the edge vs Willy nilly and needing trimmed. Great job btw !

Pro tip- put gloves on and just grab plaster and rub it on. Rubbing/pressing it into the mesh by hand gives better coverage and is way faster. Smooth it with a tool at the end but doing this with a spatula slowly the plaster will dry fast af. I make concrete and Venetian plaster tables and vases and just stick my (gloves) hands in it. It’s very satisfying

What mix do you use? The same as this video? People use a lot of different variations, trying to find the best

@@lauralea328hi, I think I can help. The mixture I use is 1 part Plaster of Paris and 1 Part joint compound. The amount of water I add depends on how much working time I want with the mixture. Usually 1:1:1 with water makes it a little too watery for me so it requires more layers. For this particular table project, I used 1/4 cup of water and slowly added more if needed. I found that less water gave me more full coverage after one coat and it also dries quicker which is what I wanted. I hope that was helpful.

I did this in the summer as an end table -taller- and I used L brackets to attach pvc pipes to wood table.

L brackets , ✅check. I was thinking 2 part epoxy, but that still gave me doubts to longevity. Maybe 2 part epoxy and L brackets ✅😎👍💯

Hello! I made this coffee table and I love it! Im seriously obsessed! I do have a question though! My husband spilled a little oil and it's now stained🥲 I tried to get it out with soap and water, didn't work. I tried 1/2 white vinegar 1/2 water, didn't work. Do you have any suggestions? I sealed it as the video showed
@womanofgold
@womanofgold 2 жыл бұрын
Aww sorry girl! I actually have no idea. I’d say If nothing has worked I would just go over it with a small amount of plaster again. That’s what I would do or try paint over it with some white paint if anything

Premixed drywall compound is much easier, drys slighly slower
@womanofgold
@womanofgold 2 жыл бұрын
Huh? That must be an American term lol never heard of that here. Do you mean instead of using drywall mesh tape??
@rajjie100
@rajjie100 2 жыл бұрын
@@womanofgold No , instead of mixing your own plaster of paris, you can buy a tub of premixed drywall compound that is essenctially a premixed plaster, it is the consisistency of cake frosting so you can a spread just like you did with the plaster of paris over the mesh tape, but it has a longer working time and will not dry out fast as the plaster of paris. Much easier for you.
