I am so encouraged to see this family take their time and money to get this wonderful organ back in playing condition. GOOD FOR THEM and even though there is more work to do it is wonderful to see the progress. Don't stop see it through to perfection!

Hi Stuart, thanks for editing together this selection of tunes. They also happen to be some of my favourites from the repertoire of the "Wonderland" organ. I'm so glad this Gavioli is now in the care of the Howard Brothers as they certainly know how to look after vintage equipment and have gone to the length of providing a van big enough to show off the original proscenium, which many owners often overlook. With Phil at the keyframe, this organ is sure to be a future star of the rally field.

Actually the first tune is called "The 3rd Dragoon Guards" nicknamed "3 DGs" not "3 RDGs" there is no regiment called "The 3rd Royal Dragoon Guards". At the weekend I printed all the music titles on the correct ends of each book of music, and put all the marches together in one rack.

I was just quoting the title on the book and the way it is written,i wasn't sure which was correct so thanks for that,Marenghi did produce 87 key books but this is more likely an adaptation of an 89 key G4 or VB book as many books supplied by Chiappa are adapted in this way,in fact many 87 key organs have a lot of 89 key books in the repetoire as the scale is virtually the same apart from 2 accompaniment notes which are added to top melody in 89 making 19,87 has 17.

7:52 is a great circa 1918(?) arrangement of "Where the Black-Eyed Susans Grow", a 1918 American song by Richard A Whiting and Dave Radford, popularized by Al Jolson. I know, because I am the accompanist for Evans and Rogers, the "hottest new act in vaudeville", and they perform this song! I second that thanks for the titles! I didn't know that Marenghi made 87-key books!

it is in a nice big lorry :) i'm sure it will be very good when it is finished - it looks very old fashioned and charming, i like the pink and green pipes, I assume theses are original :))

"Popsy Wopsy" incidentaly was the organs first owner showman Patrick Collins favorite song and he had all his organs issued with that tune. Just a little bit of useless information for you.
