One of the best fan works I've ever read involves Starscream having a full on panic attack trying to manage things during one of the periods Megatron is MIA, leaving him in a fugue state and slipping into a stress and exhaustion induced coma for a week. It turns out being around Megatron for so long has left him so tightly wound and paranoid that he's been getting by on stimulants and hasn't had an actual rest cycle since we'll before the fall of Cybertron, and most of his shitty planning and mania is the result of severe exhaustion and a centuries long psychotic break.

Cuz it's a statement of fact. The war lasted for millions of years because the Decepticons had constant Air Superiority and the Autobots maintained constant Ground Superiority Starscream was born into the privileged Seeker Caste and was already set for a life of luxury, yet in Cybertron's staunchly meritocratic military he not only rose to become one of the supreme leaders of Cybertron's Air Command, but also an Energon Scientist, going so far as to build his own branch of Energon Seekers, his own squad being all the named Seekers. Such a prominent military leader publicly backing Megatron is the main reason the Decepticons had a fighting chance as they were largely labourers and criminals until Starscream's Seekers swelled the ranks and gave the movement a fighting chance beyond grand speeches and acts of terrorism. It's no coincidence every battle where Starscream lead the Seekers was a total Decepticon victory That's why the Seekers are always so loyal to him, why Megatron keeps him around, because when he's in the air, he's practically invincible and if he never backed up Megatron, the movement would've been dead in the water.

I do love how this shows that, At least until Starscream got overconfident and closed into close range he could out fly and leverage his speed to actually hold his own vs Megatron at range. But it's his own hubris and delusions of grandeur that got him too close, because he can never match Megatron in raw power. As a long time Starscream fan I love this so much.

Starscream was the 2nd best Seeker after Jetfire (Skyfire) and was known for his deception in combat. Megatron did not stood a chance in aerial combat. The null ray should have shutdown Megatron even temporarily unless Starscream thought this mock battle didnt warrant his full blast which was a wrong way to think with Megatron involved where practice is life or death

At the beginning of the video it is seen that Starscream only wanted to scare the bird, he had no intention of killing it. I want to believe that Starscream didn't actually kill the bird at the end and he simply fired his laser gun near it to scare it away, as a way of telling it to "go away, don't bother me!"

Yep. If you watch it on the slowest speed, you can see at least one frame of the bird taking flight before everything goes black. We can infer that if Starscream missed, it was on purpose, but served to get the bird out of his sight.

Cruelty begets more cruelty. Starscream initially didnt want to hurt the bird, simply let it go. Then after being beaten and humiliated he turns that anger and hatred onto another helpless being. Love the subtle details like that in plots, thanks for making this!

Starscream trying take over is an asset is the reality of things. If Megatron has anyone too loyal like Soundwave, they are ignored by the others. Starscream is a lightning rod for all the things happening on the Decepticon side of things. Given the Decepticon way is the strongest leads, if Megatron can not prevent Starscream from taking his spot, he isn't fit to lead. This why Starscream is the best help he can get, as it keeps him on his toes. This means the two strongest are always at the top of the ladder. Long as Starcream believes he can overthrow Megatorn, he won't let anyone else do it first. (Why in Triple Takeover Blitzwing and Astrotrain make sure to trap both Megatron and Starscream at the same time.) He roots out any other potential usurpers, as won't let them beat him to the punch.

Starscream's my favorite Transformer and this actually showcases one of the reasons for that. He may be a bad guy, but he's an underdog when it comes to Megatron, and a lot of times just a punching bag for him, so I wanna see him win that rivalry in the end just because he tries so hard for it. Plus Armada was my introduction to the character so that really cemented that view of him for me.

Should have just stayed in his alt-mode and won by dogfighting Megatron, Megs chose a plane made for CAS and precision airstrikes while Screamer's a purpose-built air superiority fighter with a 104 to 0 Kill-Loss ratio, on paper even with stealth Megatron is simply outmatched... But this is Starscream we're talking about so of course he had to make what would have been a surefire win into a massive loss by choosing to not play to his strengths. Starscream had a chance, he really did, but his arrogance matches his cowardice.

This is such a classic starscream blunder. He does excel in certain areas, air fighting and his silver tongue, but he always overextends. he took the fight out of the air and fought megatron on his terms, in robot form, and he lost due to that. I knw, kind of stupid to analyze this, but it reminds me that i do this too. i don't keep to my area of competencies and it costs me too.

The worst part they delete all the critical comments on their trailer videos and leave only the superficial comments praising their product for something dumb like "omgush they got the mcu voice actors" or "orion pax's face makes me soyface" or whatever.

Transformers one is actually good tho. I especially love that the writers built on the already existing Transformers lore.They tooks themes/lore elements from several different Tf continuities, and created therir own world/story from them. For ex, Megatron's D-16 low class miner bot origin came from the IDW series, just like the Cybertronian caste system. Orion is also a low caste manual laborer just like he was in the G1 series (dock worker) TF One's Starscream's origin was inspird by his Aligned continuity one, and Sentinel is very reminiscnt of his TFA version. Bots being cogless during the time the Quintessons ruled also came from G1, just like the Quintessons themselves. Orion being a history nerd spending his time in the Archives trying to figure out what is wrong with Cybertron, and how to fix it is a story line taken from the Aligned continuity. (just like Megatron, Orion being sworn brothers)

The Gerwalk transformation was a nice touch
