In 1998, my High School wrestling coach, Frank Pettineo, broke a longstanding record of 150 wins. My cohort was the first group of students who were part of the undefeated for all matches streak that lasted more than a decade after I graduated. My High School coach is a legend in the sport of wrestling. As a result, our team attracted many high level wrestlers over the years to attend school at Cardinal Gibbons and wrestle. Olympic gold medalist Kenny Monday’s son wrestled at my highschool. Currently, Steve Mocco’s son, Michael Mocco, wrestles at my High School. I am proud to have been part of the team that set two major records: breaking the 151 wins and undefeated dual meets-which was 78 consecutive at this time.

@@josephbreza-grappling9459 that's so cool to hear. I was at pine crest from 2005 - 2009 and there was no wrestling team. I wonder what happened? Bitter sweet as it led my to jiu jitsu instead!

@jschapir oh man that sucks!! University school had some good guys too! One of their guys, Auerbach, went to wrestle at NYU. They probably dropped their team too. College wrestling suffered a lot of loss of programs to Title iX when I started wrestling in college in 1999. It bottle necked the competition. Not only is it really hard to get a scholarship to wrestle, everyone was incredibly good. So everyone you had to wrestle off was a multiple time state champion and even some were highschool All Americans. We had 4 highschool All Americans on my college team.

You should have wrestled but weren’t allowed. You beat on some of the 103 and 112lbs

@josephbreza-grappling9459 it was SO new for female wrestlers then, and the ones who were out there, caught a lot of 💩 for participating in the sport. It was always kinda funny when coaches would be like...drill with Little Breza, and I just destroyed them. I learned my skills on the hard ass white tile of the kitchen floor 😂. Kids just don't bruise. Hip tossing unsuspecting dudes twice my size was my favorite party trick in college

@LittleBreza and doing more pushups than them, lol! I remember you made that a requirement for people we didn’t know to enter our party. If you can’t do more pushups than my little sister then you aren’t allowed inside, lol

Yo joe. I know this is gonna be out of topic to the video but, I've been REALLY liking the high crotch and I've been looking at setups for it. I saw a video of john smith showing off his outside control duck under. I bring all this up because I'm wondering if it gets the breza seal of approval as being a suitable setup for mortals like me.

Yeah I have some videos here where I show the HC from elbow control. I showed it more from a penetration step than a duck. To do it like him, you have to have people pushing into you. People in BJJ don’t push a lot, because the rules don’t hit you for stalling the same way as they do in wrestling. I see stalling calls in BJJ but they aren’t predictable on the fee like they are in wrestling. Also, John used a crackdown from there a lot. I show some footage of me doing the HC to a crackdown from highschool, and you need to hop over like I did in that clip. In wrestling, John could threaten the back to the mat exposure and the guy will bail out to try and escape. But in BJJ, that is a perfect place to get guillotined. kzbin.info/www/bejne/q16ykKKMrbWFpqssi=uKEBj4K4M22DFDP5 kzbin.info/www/bejne/moXOgaRtrJh9mJYsi=CfKmPlDeCZEWegvq

Somewhat…Hubers was a good MMA fighter for a while. I talk more with Yolando’s brothers. He isn’t into any online stuff. Both of them are still jacked. Yolando was 103 but benched 315lb in the offseason. He probably was like 125 when he hit that. Crazy genetics and worked hard. He went to J Robinson’s Intensive camp with me in 1998 the summer leading up to this season. There’s a photo on my Instagram of he and I and my friend Major Gordon James at J Robinson
