;) Meanwhile, it's a song about two people in love with each other who can't be together.... Basia was surprised, in an interview, that it's such a hit at weddings, because it talks about unfulfilled, impossible love. (She is talking about a situation from her life). However, one must admit that it is a beautiful song. I enjoy listening to it very much because I love the timbre of Basia Trzetrzelewska's voice.

One of the greatest live performances ever. Of all time. Can I just say, I’m in love with the bass player? Ok, that’s out of the way. Basia had a hit song and she sang it like she didn’t know it. But Johnny Carson knew it.

Saw her at the Wiltern theater 9/30/88. I knew it was going to be great. It was an awesome concert. I sat next to Raoul Rodriguez- a conceptual architect who did a lot of floats for the Rose Parade.

More than 3 years of being single, still cynical, still traumatized from my previous relationship, still no plans of being in love again, and will probably never ever take a chance again. BUT THIS SONG, THIS WILL ALWAYS BE MY FAVORITE NO MATTER WHAT! THIS NEVER FAILS TO MAKE ME FEEL GOOD EVEN JUST FOR A FEW MINUTES. ❤️❤️❤️

Is it live or is it Memorex? I can hardly tell the difference. Great quality recording to match the great performance by Basia. She seems to be right there before me. Johnny Carson had an appreciation of beauty and style. Basia fits that mold to a tee. The 80's were a time when elegance was ascendant. Since the 90's, elegance has virtually disappeared from popular culture.

I loved the Time and Tide album. I thought at the time that Basia needed more help transitioning from chest to head voice. Also her background singers are outsinging her and she has no stage presence here. None of these issues are dealbreakers, the record label isn't presenting her at her best is all.
@greggry48839 ай бұрын
Thank you Maestro. What a shame you didn't tell her about this transitioning bit in 1988. She wouldn't have wasted so many years.
