I have the Famicom version. The keys are great. It's like the 1980's IBM Model M keyboards all over again. Best keyboard I have ever had. It also has a striking resemblance to the original Famicom keyboard that was used for basic programing.

The keyboard looks great, can't wait to see what kind of build you'll do in a future video.

Thanks Mark, it will probably be pretty straightforward. Swap the switches and do some sound dampening, like foam strips.

I love the NES color scheme, it's nostalgia overload, fits in great with their other products! And I love the color scheme of the keyboard you have on your desk it's also very retro, which one is it if you don't mind?

I knew you would scoop this up. The only reason I didn’t was the fact no backlit keys. I like the option to turn lights on and off when in low light.

Yeah that does suck, I should have mentioned that during the cons section

It's a standard HID device in all 3 modes (off is actually USB mode). As such, it works just fine on mac OS, even the volume knob. I'm typing this on my M1 mac right now! They probably don't advertise support only because macos has a different keyboard layout, and this keyboard is set up for Windows PCs. This is easy to mitigate in macos, and most macos users who might buy a keyboard like this, are going to understand the issue just fine.

Same I’m using on my Mac m1 and it’s been a solid board. Just not sure what macros to program 😂

I pre-ordered the Famicon version and it arrived the other day but i'm not sure about keeping it or return it. Not because i don't like it. It is a Money issue and i already have a ducky one 2 tkl. I'm really undecided about what to do. (is it at least backlit though?)

Look into reviewing nuphy keyboards too. The Air 75 (newest version) would be a good start!

You could use the giant buttons when you play nes games, might be awkward but might work well, if you don't have a gamepad of course

Mechanical keyboards hurt my fingers to type on, having broken my digits about a dozen times over the years goalkeeping. If I hadn't though, I would be all over this keyboard -- it is one of the prettiest pieces of electronics I have seen in years. Also I'm sure you knew this, but tilting your keyboard up towards the back is actually the opposite direction you want for good ergonomics. It will definitely murder your wrists if you type all day like I do. Can I ask what happens on mac? I assume it at least functions like a normal keyboard, since it's a standard USB accessory, but maybe doesn't allow remapping? Does volume control work?

Ouch! Yeah I can see how they would be uncomfortable. It didn’t recognize it on my MacBook 💻
@det.bullock446110 ай бұрын
What mech keyboards did you try? In my experience they are easier on the fingers than scissor switches or rubber domes unless you are using light linears since they are very easy to bottom out. Tactile and clicky switches in theory should allow to type without bottoming out making typing less stressful on the fingers.
@CubeApril10 ай бұрын
@@det.bullock4461 quite a few of them, even the low profile low resistance ones. the Logitech MX keys is probably my favorite keyboard when it comes to extremely light feedback with low to moderate travel.
@naliboi939 ай бұрын
@@det.bullock4461 @CubeApril Adding to that, using silicon O-rings under the keycaps, or using silent switches can also pleasantly smoothe the bottom out to protect the fingers. Have to be careful with silent tactiles in particular, because you might end up making a type feel that's almost like a cushioned out membrane keyboard.... which might throw you into an existential crisis on why you even wanted to get into mechanical keyboards in the first place just to return to membrane typefeel (don't ask me how I know 😅). On the other hand O-ring cushioned keycaps or silent linears might be the way forward for you and your fingers. If you go further with the all-out custom build overkill, you could even find a flexy gasket mounted keyboard with flexi cutouts on the PCB.

3:12 ?? No? It works on iOS (and I would assume iPadOS) and Macos, but, like any Windows keyboard on a Mac, you have to keep in mind that keybinds are changed. you need to use the windows key rather than the ctrl key for shortcuts like copying and pasting.

I think it's the multiplayer one where the back story is parents that are on the edge of divorce become their daughter's (who's suffering from that) dolls and have to play games and solve puzzle together to get to the end (it's a pretty Fun and well made one). Should be called "it takes two"
