I love this chapter. I find the trigger teddies adorable especially the pitter patter of their feet. Mama bear is absolutely terrifying the way she stares at you and slowly walks to you. The idea of the teddies as bombs is clever hence the name trigger. Tara strong did an absolute fantastic job voicing mama bear.

The scariest thing about Mama Bear, I think, is that her voice is always in that calm state. She never really expresses anger, sadness, or any strong emotion. Like she's apathetic or has no soul. That and the way she never blinks or droops her eyelids. Her eyes are constantly wide open and staring at you. *shudder* I think it's weird that, although Mama Bear is supposed to represent abusive mothers, her whole demeanor seems like that of a loving mother with the way she talks to and about her Trigger Teddies.

Ryan, the character labeled as “E” is your character’s wife. Doug’s wife is named Elise which starts with the letter “E” and, if you look back to that “accident report” that you found in a previous level it says that the two victims who were related to Doug Houser were Tammy Houser and Clarissa Houser. It doesn’t say that Elise Houser was in the accident which means that she was still alive. His wife likely tried to do the same thing that Doug is doing. Something else that I want to point out is that Elise’s medical page says that she has “memory issues” which is likely why she doesn’t remember until now.

Maybe its gonna be a christmas related level, the spike is clearly of metal but its probably gonna have some animatronic stuff mixed in, because christmas decorations often feature spiky hats of some sort and very slender small characters, with the machinery being santas factory, with dolls and toys sometimes attacking you or acting as traps or something

I think that “E” is supposed to be Doug’s wife. She most likely died in the crash along with Doug and Tammy and the note mentions the crash. Also, Bierce mentioned in the first chapter that the last person who attempted the Monkey Business level was a “clever girl” but not a fast runner. This implies that she died but she is clearly still alive cus she left the notes. So I think what happened was that she escaped somehow with the ring piece and Bierce just didn’t know that she wasn’t dead and assumed she was. P.S. I think the blue orb is supposed to be Tammy but I’m not sure. In the mind-scape, it looked like her spirit was mad at Doug, but I think Malak just fabricated that to mess with his head.

I feel like the cameras should have a purpose, but the fact that the animatronics could just appear near you felt like a bug, especially when invisible. Or else, what would be the point of cameras?

Also, judging by the red light emitted by the cameras and Lucky tinged in a red hue while chasing you with extra speed, I guess being spotted grants the bunnies something similar to Doug's Sprint ability.

Ryan, if you read this, let me explain what you saw in the Chapter 5 screen: the thing you saw (when u said it reminded you of Silent Hill) was in fact a Mannequin. It’s not just any mannequin though. This is a mannequin with a cone-shaped head (or a spike if u would). This is one of the types of mannequins, as Vince confirmed in a previous Q&A that there will be multiple mannequins within the level. As for the level, Vince had confirmed also that the mannequins will inhabit an “American Mall” level. But the mechanics are still a mystery. The only hint we have is that they’re mechanics will be “crazy”. They apparently are going to be the fastest enemy in the game. And I don’t think they will have anything to do with the Gold Watchers mechanic that u had previously encountered. My guess it’s going to be a mechanic that hasn’t been thought of by anybody. It’ll be quite a surprise I tell you.

Ryan, despite you being the last person to play this, I want you to know that I waited for you to post it; because I wanted to share the experience of seeing it for the first time _with_ you. Also after finishing up the video, I really really hope Ryan takes a second and actually think about Malak's offer. "I can give them to you exactly how you wanted them to be." I'm not sure if Ryan is taking that to mean alive, but I think that's clearly not what he meant. He would """Fix"""" them. Make them """normal.""" He would change them into an "ideal" family. He wouldn't bring his family _back_ he would give Doug a copy of them, that would be whatever he wanted. That's not atoning for your sins, that's not making up for the wrongs you have done; that's just pursuing selfish life. Chapter 1 was a warm up. Chapter 2 was a full of hints and secrets. Chapter 3 had high tensions between Bierce and Malak. Chapter 4 was full of intense moments and lore. Chapter 5 might focus on actual spooks and scares.

how the ring piece works in zone 3: you must blow up 2 trigger teddies (any 2 doesnt matter) and the last one you blow will have it. there is no specific one that has it.

I have no idea how I'm only just realizing this 2 years later, but the abusive mother of Dougie at 34:20, is the player's mom. The player was abused, grew up into how his father turned out, and tore his own family apart, just to regret it and start the journey of the game.

I wonder what are the mannequins going to represent in Doug’s life. As we know, Vince said that the mannequins are going to have special mechanics, which means the mannequins are going to have abilities that could make it very hard for the character to get through, another thing is that in Twitter, Vince said for the sake of time, he wants us to decide if we want chapter 5 being divided, and release each part on different dates,(basically divide chapter 5 and release it in parts) or release the full chapter once it’s completed, I think it’s better to release the full chapter bc I feel like people aren’t gonna put much attention to the chapter if they release it in parts

Couple things for those who don't know. First things first, the next stage is the Mannequins. Chapter five is going to have 4 levels but it's going to be released in two parts. Finally look forward to Evil Nun: The Broken Mask. This is the next game to come out of Glowstick Entertainment before the first part of chapter 5. It's planned to come out in October most likely. Look out for teasers. Gonna be made in unreal engine 5!

I think there's a mix. Yes they all do pertain to Doug's past. But they also have some connection to Bierce's history as well.

Regarding Agatha, I highly doubt she's Doug's daughter Tammy. I think she is the maid's daughter, the one Bierce sacrificed to make a deal with Malak. It seems most likely considering how Agatha acts around Bierce and Malak.

So Mama Bear and her stage resembles how Doug was abused by his own mother when he was a kid. And the Trigger Teddies, (with their true faces exposed in thethird phase) could be resembling how abusive parents will do anything to cover up what they do to their children and helps them to look innocent infront of other parents! 😢

I'll cave in and say that I watched someone else do this part before Ryan, but I'm glad I still watched your playthrough. As I said, you are the first Let's Player that I think of when I think of Dark Deception, and I am looking forward to watching you play the final chapter! Also to note, if Bierce is going to betray us, I could see her taking her own words and twisting them on you. She promises you a new life but yet she wants to escape. Perhaps her idea of betrayal (if she does betray us) would be that she gives herself an actual new life, while Doug's new life is taking Bierce's place in the pocket dimension? The Doug has to take on the role Bierce had and trick some other sap into getting the ring pieces all over again?
