Awesome video! I appreciate how there was no mercy for one another in the setting 😂. It was cool having Maddy on because I know she has a lot of experience with crack climbing/trad as well; it was nice that someone could quickly understand & set something outside of Tom's comfort zone. Also, loved how both of them tried so hard on each other's problems. Super fun. Thanks as always for the great vids!
@Blue-pb7kz3 жыл бұрын
Those problems were so interesting! Although, admittedly, I would have really loved to see each person complete the other's problem at the end, after points have been counted and winners declared, it's still really cool to see the different ways each climber manages to get through it. Or at least a couple extra goes, or just doing all the moves separately, like the one Peter did with Anna Hazelnutt! And it's also fun to see the way the intended difficulties play out (would more front lever training really have made a difference? Was the chimney actually a bit cramped for Tom? Don't leave us hanging!)
@1lomi9013 жыл бұрын
Agreed I remember seeing Pete doing static on one of the Magnus problem a while back. It was this kind of moment you go "Holy molly, he can do THAT ?" And it would not have happened if they did not let Pete try and retry over and over. But I guess +15 minutes videos are somewhat less popular maybe ?

I think I'd have rather seen a time limit than an attempt limit. These routes were crazy cool (especially the flying salmon) but most of the attempts between the two of you were lost just to establishing at the start. You both intentionally set parts of the route that were tailored to yourself, and seeing you each have a chance to figure out your own way past would've been fun

I never imagined I'd see a climbing problem where having a curvier derriere would make it more difficult, but I think Tom's male flatness provides an advantage over Maddy being female and more curved. Having to slide back over the bottom hold on the back Tom slipped right over it, but it looked like she was getting hung up 🤣.
