i've seen some people say that this song is about a toxic relationship or about changing for someone, but my interpretation is about fitting in, changing more for a group than for one person the way the song says "everybody is gonna be happy, youre gonna make you so happy" lead me to think that if you take the desicion of changing just for the sake of fitting in your gonna be happier. i think (and kinda reflect myself) the part of "unlike the knife you used to cut" is about that certain group you're tryng to fit in gave you some kind of emotional damage, since youre "pouring out your guts" and changing your insides. following the idea, the first verse is more about how people can harm you for being different and even when you're tryting to appear normal "youre happy as can be" since you're denying yourself and you can't keep appearances forever (therefore your stitches can hold forever) maybye i heard this song around 50 times, it has helped me a lot during my current healng process and now that im better and allow myself to be myself i hear this song every now and then mostly cause its a banger and to forget most of what ive been through rather than all of the simbolism that i gave it

Venecity Kalissto *ahem* "my blood is running cold" - describing death, their heart has ceased circulation and thus their blood is going cold due to both the lack of kinetics and a major loss of convection; "my eyes roll back in my head" - Agreeably, more suggestive than anything, yet sufficiently eerie and again a thing that happens when people die; "but now I'm pouring out my guts" - Please read that line a say again \'not exactly gore'\

As I waltz through the motions of my daily life, I sit and ponder why I'm here, why I exist in this world knowing that all who pass by me care not for who I am, but only for what I am. You who cause me pain, you who torments me so, I surrender my mind, body and soul to you. This pain reminds me that i'm alive, you hurt me because you want me to feel alive and my only wish is to let thee who finds use in my worthless existence pleasure in my pain. "I will make room, I'll empty out, I'll make sure you can move about. I'll change my everything for you; just keep on doing what you do." Let me tell ya, this hits HARD. I interpret these lyrics as someone who is desperate to feel loved and appreciated begging their favorite person not to leave. I really, really relate to this because of my past. I have severe social anxiety and I was always the "weird kid" and the outcast. I still am. When I make a friend, I tend to get way too attached and usually, I fall for them. I will practically alter any part of myself just for them to stay. To keep feeling validated. Not gonna lie, having to feel that way sucks.
