8Dio Century Orchestral Strings - Microphones and Pan

In this video, we examine the different microphone- and panning options in Century Orchestral Strings. The strings contain both hall-based mics (Decca, Mixed, Wide) and close studio mics (Close 1, Close 2 etc). All Century Orchestral products are recorded with central panning, so the user can choose exactly where they want the instruments in the panoramic field.

The Orchestral Strings come in two volumes - one for traditional (non-muted) strings and one for sordino (muted strings).
The two volumes virtually have identical articulations, so you can freely choose which parts you want muted and which parts you want traditional.
The ability to mix the two type of strings is important for high-end orchestral recreations. The Sordinos have an emotional quality and silkiness to them that you won't find in common strings.

I´m really loving these century instruments. I´m currently using Gold EastWeast, and I feel like don´t have real-time dynamics control.. (may be I don´t know what I´m doing..) I´m looking for something more expressive... But, what would be a difference between buying cinematicstudio series or 8dio Century series?

Century comes ready mixed with the optiosn Realistic lush and also, Use the mod will more! It will create more details. And as far as RAM , its gracious than others. I really recomend you get the Century series. Dynamic and combinations both mics and laying richness. From far to near. Just a recommendation to check it out if you into pop/ edm or jazz or scores for ambient stuff it has all that in the box

Does the close mics work with Divisi context?

This might be early to ask, but can you control the type of legato of the instruments? It seems to randomly do slurred legato sometimes and other times just normal transition. Please correct me if this was deliberate. Maybe it's velocity based?

Great question. Century is using dynamically layered legato (ex. play soft and get slur, play medium and get normal, play harder and be able to run faster). You also have ability to control legato speed and volume of legato transitions. The next video will cover this, but you are totally set. The slur is just because we play softer on those particular notes (1-39 velocity on keyboard).

Should i get the Century Strings or Anthology guys? where are the differences in the Libararies ?__?

I would go ahead and get Century, Anthology is a great library but it's just basically a new UI that incorporates their older Adagio and Agitato etc library samples into one library. I like anthology but had a couple minor issues with note velocity consistency, it's not a big deal but it has complicated a couple songs I've done.
