The members of college teams are constantly changing as students enroll and graduate. Such is the case with Waseda University's Tokyo Hanabi.
Although Ikebukuro is not the last festival for the performance year (usually May through the following March) it does mark the last time freshman, sophomores, and juniors will all dance together.
It is here that each dancer expresses gratitude for the time they have all shared, and it is here that the mantle is passed from one generation to the next.
Please enjoy the final performance of Tokyo Hanabi's 11th generation "Hanakaruta".

ah~~, if only i have this in my school, i would have join this instead of the flag rising team XD. seems much more fun! flag rising team is all about formation and sync, but not nearly as much fun as this and doesn't look as good :( i bet the training is difficult as well, but feels like so much more worth it.

Anyone try to cover this performance? I would like to suggest it for a school activity when the pandemic end. Do u think the steps are easy for beginner? It looks easy but tiring for me.

I watch 2018 one , don’t know in 2016 they already dance beautifully, is this competition in Japan every spring or performance ?

They started way back from 2008, but in youtube i believe you can find their performances from 2009-present.
