8O8 AND TS9 TUBE SCREAMER IN ONE PEDAL £25? BARGAIN?

I bought one and was blown away compared to my original 808 and TS9. It has a little more clarity to me. So I sold both my 808 and TS9 and bought another. 😊

There are only 2 resistors that are different from the 808 and TS9. Biyang OD-8 has op amp chip swap and comes with the rite JRC4558DD and 2 other chips at $45.

I purchased and noticed the enclosure was not grounded. So I found the ground point on board and soldered a wire from that to the screw hole. And the noise went away and stopped catching interference. I recommend you do same :).

The part on board that has 2 black wires together I added the 3rd.

@@goatizied open back plate and you will see the green board. All the wires are black. One of the wires will have 2 black wires, just add a 3rd wire and the other end strip and put in enclosure screw hole and close up. Make sure its same gauge and tin the tip of wire and iron and use little soldering paste.

I PREFERRED THE 808 SETTING, AS IT HAD SLIGHTLY MORE TREBLE DEFINITION, SO THE NOTES WERE A LITTLE CLEARER BUT THE SOUND IS AWESOME FOR £25 YOU CANNOT LOSE! AS FOR THE POSTAGE, MANY SELLERS ON EBAY ARE IN CHINA WITH A REGISTERED ADDRESS IN UK BUT THEY RARELY CARRY STOCK, I THINK IT'S A CON,🤔 TO TRICK UK BUYERS INTO THINKING IT IS A 2-3 DAY POSTAGE WHEN REALLY CHINA TO UK IS ROUGHLY 10 DAYS NOW!

Hello Chief. I'm certainly not an electronics expert. I disassembled the pedal and noticed that there is only one chip inside, that is the "4558D JRC 0088T". This chip should be part of the "Tube Screamer TS808", or am I wrong? Now can this pedal work in TS9 mode if it only has the chip for the TS808? Thank you.

Hmmm interesting the Ts9 mode is definitely brighter and tighter I’m wondering if they just tweaked the eq

It uses a different part of the circuit (I imagine it's a small bypass)...

It's a bargain, but it makes a big thud noise when switching modes ts 9 to ts 808. Also led is blinding. Could it be wired to use both modes at the same time> It may sound better. Great guitar playing.

Bought and it’s a keeper absolutely! I’m looking forward to a demo of the dual boost which is a supposed Fortin 33 and Exotic booster. I was wondering if You know that this rumor may be true; Hotone Ampero is a Valeton GP 200 and Sonic Matribox 2 with out the touchscreen rebranded? well, it has a toggle switch for ts808 and ts9 modes...now starting from the fact that they can't sound like the originals (since even two ts808 won't sound exactly the same ), do they even sound different at least? I'm afraid it's simply a marketing labeling. DOo you hear any difference?

@@NinecoreNeil Oh, I know I'll like it. I had a Maxon OD808 (loved it) but now use a Keeley modded Boss SD-1 (love it). I also have a TS Mini (great) and just ordered an EHX Soul Food (used like new / super cheap). I love overdrives and though I only use 2 on my board, I still buy/try others :)

I got the newer 2 version that also has a mod switch on the inside. There's enough blues dad noodling videos with these. Nice to see someone use it for metal for once. I plan to do a video of both uses !
