2 questions for John Deere, why is the gps reciever not centrally mounted and can the front camera see to the side- if so will be a big safety feature at road junctions

Thanks for your questions, Robert! The new cab and roof was designed to accommodate several different large tractor configurations, including the ability to offer a panorama roof for tractors equipped with loaders. That required us to place the receiver off to the side which has no negative impact on performance. The integrated cameras do offer some visibility to the sides, but not side angle views perpendicular to the left or right of the tractor.

There’s a massive soy bean plantation property not far from where my father in-law lives, it’s a father and son operation (worth millions apparently) they have a sprint car racing team, all the latest Deere gear including a brand new 570hp 9rx with all the goodies, a late model D8T dozer, just about every Massey Ferguson wheel tractor ever built (and that’s no exaggeration) new Chevy silverados as company cars, 2 mansion houses on the property etc, list goes on you name it, they bloody have it. Anyway they have a 410 wheeled 8R and it’s their pride and joy due to its versatility they claim, can go anywhere, fit anywhere and just powerful enough to pull their implements

The 4 track configuration is a total copy of Case IH. It's not a game changer when the biggest domestic competitor did it first - which Case IH probably copied from a Euro manufacturer. US tractors are great, but the innovators lay with Europe. I'll always love the Case 2094, Case IH 8950, MX220. The nostalgia is kicking in lol Nothing runs like a Deere. But nothing kills a Deere like a Magnum

Torosus Horneri LSW tires reduced compaction and give more traction to the machine. In Europe they used those tires because they are limited in width and cannot have duals or triple on tractor. It’s not specific to Fendt.

We learned during testing that aftermarket bolt on track solutions would not allow us to meet our customers’ high expectations for performance and reliability therefore, John Deere will not be offering an aftermarket solution for previous generation 8R tractors.

Everybody on these kind of videos always comments how stupid deere is for making it easier to farm but I can bet that they are the city slickers who never worked a hard 12 hour day on a farm in their life. Deere is doing a good job with their equiptment for example making auto track that will turn the tractor around on its own. Wait until you read the comments on autonomus tractors.
