Daaaamn, that was an absolute BANGER! xD So weird to me how no one builds AA... and then still doesn't build AA even after Air wipes someone out =o You'd think someone would make a Fighter squad to cover the team. Same story with anti-Nukes too.

Remember lads, build AA! It’s cheaper to bite the bullet and build a flak or missile battery every so often than it is to rebuild entire chunks of your base. Especially in a team game, one of those back players is reasonably likely to go air

Where do you suggest they be built? Scattered around in ones and twos to try to cover my important stuff? Along my current perimeter? I've only played a couple of single player matches so far to try to learn the game, and all I know so far is that I have a tendency to try to build an initial base and then I jump too far ahead. My forward operating base at the further ahead metal extractors end up being destroyed, which screws my economy up. I'm still at the stage where I'm reading through unit descriptions and costs to figure out what they do, so I very much appreciate the ability to pause and queue up orders.

@@Thalanox In large games like this I think it makes far more sense to have one or more players make Fighters. They can cover the entire team, patrolling the border and then responding wherever an attempt is made, rather than counting on each teammate to build sufficient AA across their base. Plus, the Air Factory can be used to make Bombers and be the one taking advantage of insufficient AA on the enemy team ;)

@@catbert7 having someone go fighters is definitely the best yeah. They do so much damage and can respond to air strikes anywhere rather than the immediate area. However teammates aren’t particularly reliable sometimes, so I usually just slap down an AA gun or two every once and a while near my base. Not a ton so it likely wont stop a full-scale air attack, (and so I’m not over-investing) but a handful to ward off any bomber harassment and prevent any bombers that survive a mass air-strike from getting multiple runs. (Like when a teammate gets bombed and they try to continue on to your base afterwards) One or two flakkers can do a surprising amount of work with how often bombers bunch up. Especially if you’re able to focus-fire them into the cluster.

@@Thalanox scattered around in ones and twos near important locations is good enough. I typically place mine around my main base much how people build a laser near mexes to prevent grunt harass. the enemy can almost always overwhelm AA, so the AA is really there to ward off small groups and mitigate damage from large strikes. (in the video we saw flak kill enough bombers to save some fusions, for example) thus making the enemy need to invest more resources into air in order to overwhelm your AA, possibly allowing you or your team to overwhelm them while they’re neglecting other parts of their army. But yeah as catbert said, a dedicated air player with a cloud of fighters is the best. But teammates are unreliable so I prefer to have my own AA just in case something slips by or the team doesn’t build a lot of fighters.

This definitely was an interesting one to see. I'm so used to seeing team games snowball fast and hard once the first player is out/takes a big loss, but this one was such a back and forth, just incredible. Thanks, you two, for doing more co-casts together, it's always so much fun.
