And I enjoy how they’ve allowed Buck and Eddie’s friendship to blossom through Buck being able to help Eddie out by being a great godfather to Christopher. I love that Chris's immediate response was to call Buck. I doubt they ever told him about the guardianship thing, but it's instictual. He knows that next to Dad, Buck is his person. Also, I get why people wanted a hug...but y'all. It just wasn't the time! In that moment, Eddie wasn't even there. He was miles away, reliving a horrible trauma that Buck wasn't a part of and couldn't fully understand. He needed space, time to come back to present reality. If Buck had hugged him then, it would have been like hugging a brick wall. He would hardly have been aware of it, and definitely in no position to reciprocate. Buck just being there and taking care of Chris, and allowing him to open up in his own time was exactly what he needed. And later, when Eddie is more himself, he'll be so grateful to Buck for being there for him at his worst, and that will be the perfect setup for the best emotional bro-hug anyone could want.

This relationship dynamic thay have is so so important to see. See Eddie finally dealing with all the trauma he has experienced this last few years, When Hen was narrating the "fear of being afraid" I really feel like this was Eddie, he's so afraid of feeling fear that he wired himself to not feel it, but for a while he just didn't felt anything, and now it finally blew up. Now he can get the help he needs, because he now can see how bad things got for him, and this kind of storyline is very important. Having Buck there was also a phenomenal writing choice, because even if (and it probably wont) this never goes beyond the limits of friendship, this kind of partnership between two man its still very significant to show on TV

I didn’t do anything special when I served in Iraq. Other than get my head messed up by an IED, and see a couple of guys not make it home- but God, it doesn’t end. It never ends. I’ve lost more brothers to suicide then I ever have to combat. It feels like, one by one, the only people who understood what happened to you over there threw in the towel. That kind of loneliness feels like a hole in your chest. Irreparable. You didn’t just lose friends and brothers, you lost another one of a very small amount of people who saw with their eyes what you saw with yours. The terror and hatred-all of it. I ain’t no silver star recipient, but god it was hard to watch this string of episodes, because it’s exactly how I felt when I heard a good friend of mine who I served with in Iraq decided to walk away from his wife and kids and never come back. If you make it back just to watch all the people you love leave, what’s the point? I came back to these episodes recently because I’ve been in a better place, and it’s interesting to see a portrayal of combat related PTSD since I haven’t been much of a fan of the movies that feature such storylines for obvious reasons.

This scene proves again that Buck has Eddie's back any day & by extension also Chris, coz when he was needed he didn't hesitate to go immediately to them. It also shows the trust between the three of them, Chris could have called anybody else like Abuela, Pepa, Carla ot even Bobby but instead he called Buck. And Eddie showed his most vulnerable side of him to Buck when in truth he doesn't want anybody to see him break down or even panic, case in point the panic attack with Ana but with Buck he lets himself be vulnerable & even admitted some things that he kinda finds hard to admit to his therapist. This scene just showed us that we all have our breaking points but it's nice to know that there would be someone who would be there for you, care for you, understand you & support you , instead of pushing you.. Ryan & Oliver did an amazing job here. Congratulations on a job well done👏👏

Mental health matters across the board.” And I LIVE FOR THAT!!

Tears were shed....by me. Love can be physical, but it doesn't have to be. This is pure love, however it expresses itself, physical or otherwise. What can be better or stronger, whichever way it is.... or becomes. Revealing one's soul to another is hard...but says everything about the intense bond the two have and exactly how they feel about each other. No love can be better or stronger. Having said that, this one needs to be physical....it just does. This scene begged for it. Even the characters knew that. Buck should have embraced Eddie.
@alanak.75392 жыл бұрын
I understand why people wanted a hug, but the reason it didn't happen is no reflection on the characters' bond. It simply wasn't the right time. Think about it. Chris, the person Eddie loves most in the world was banging on the door screaming for him, but he was so far removed that he couldn't answer. It was like he was trapped alone in a nightmare, fighting for his life, surrounded by monsters and he couldn't wake up. His trauma had become his reality to the point where even his child's screams couldn't reach him, so Buck's touch would have been meaningless in that moment. Useless for him, and completely unsatisfying for us. He wouldn't have been able to register, appreciate, or reciprocate it. I think Buck approached the situation in the best way possible - cautious and sensative, recognizing that Eddie was going through something he couldn't fully understand, offering his presence and support while allowing Eddie the space and time he needed to come back to himself. Later on when he's had time to process and heal, he will be able to fully appreciate Buck being there for him in his darkest moments, and that will be a perfect setup for the emotional, aware, and satisfying embrace we're all waiting for.

Amazing scene, I knew it was going to be hard to watch. Great acting. Eddie has a long way to go, but he will get there. I read a lot about people wanting a hug, and as much as I would want to see one. It wasn't the time, as someone who is going through trauma myself and being in therapy, this moment of breakdown that I have had, I did not want to be touched. Due to physical pain also, everyting needed to be released. Holding me would have done more harm. Even now months later, I still don't like hugging. I rather talk to people and laugh with them. The hugging will hopefully come back as I used to want to hug people, but for now it is ok.

I think from him losing the people he saved that he served with, watching his wife who he loved dearly take her last breath and not being able to save her that really traumatized him and I truly believe he blames himself for that especially because he is a firefighter although it’s not his fault, him getting shot, dealing with the panic attacks, being kidnapped, worrying about Christopher and not being a firefighter has finally taken a toll and pushed him to his breaking point!! I feel so bad for him. Poor Christopher. So sad this sweet boy had to hear his father like this. I know it was scary. Buck is such a good friend/brother to Eddie. He is always there for him. 😢PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). Eddie broke my heart with this scene. At least one of them didn’t die by suicide/Drug Overdose.

When I saw the scene in moonvasion, the season 2 finale, this theory came to my mind. If Louie was the only child, he'd be a happy young duck until he's constantly sensing Della and hears her moon lullaby that she wrote that he also remembers when he's terrified until in the finale of season 1 him sensing Della is so strong that he sees pictures with Della and locks himself in his room and has a breakdown. A few moments later, Scrooge and Donald hear him and rush to his room, and then Scrooge and Donald go into his room and see it destroyed and then see Louie sitting on the floor crying. Later, Louie stopped crying and explained that he was sensing Della and that she's on the moon. Here's what the script would look like: Scrooge: Donald, do you hear that? Donald: Yes, I do, it's Louie. Oh no, It's Louie. I think something's wrong with him. Scrooge: Louie, are you okay? Donald: Louie, is everything okay? We heard you in the room. Louie: (Sitting next to his bed crying) I want my mom to come home to me. I miss her. Scrooge: You feel better? Louie: Yes, I'm feeling a little better. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to scare you. I just kinda lost it. Donald: I know you miss your mom. Me and your uncle Scrooge miss him too. Louie: I was sensing her, I saw her on the moon, and I heard the song she wrote for me that I remember when I'm terrified. Scrooge: How long have you been sensing her for? Louie: 5 years. Donald: Oh Louie, why didn't you say something? Louie: Because I thought you wouldn't believe me. Note: I'm talking about Louie from DuckTales, but he would have the same breakdown as Eddie.
