Thanks so much for the video. It covered a lot of the fundamentals in more detail and has really helped me with my slap bass learning.

Thanks for the really helpful video. When I slap I get a clanging metal sound - I think as the string hits the fret. Is this normal or am I hitting the string too hard or at the wrong angle? Doesn't sound like the slap sound on any recordings! Can you help please - very frustrating/

Thanks dude i still gotta practice a lot since the thumb tip playing thing is super hard (because I have small hands) and for some reason my bass sounds nothing like yours or any other youtube bassist. can you please help me with that? thanks and hope you reach 15k subs soon

I have a passive bass but but noticed it is a lot easier to slap on a active. Is it I just a weak slap skill or passive better for slap?
@MXP2502 жыл бұрын
@@OnlineBassGuitar1 I don’t think I said it right. I meant I don’t have to hit the string as hard on a active. Where on a passive the sound is not as pronounced. I find I have to hit the passive harder. I recognize my technique is not great and something I need to work on.

I CAN'T DO THIS!!😠😠😠

@@OnlineBassGuitar1 Ahhh!🙄 Wrist always wants to twist!! Absolutely can't hit the string to get anything close to a slap. Sounds like a plunk!! I have repeatedly tried this for hours at a time. Can't even work on a pop.

Maybe just not my deal!😔

@@jasonbenford3427an issue I’ve noticed when I’ve played in the past is that my forearm is resting on the strings while I’m trying to slap, muting the strings and giving the bass a plucking sound. Easy fix is to just reposition in a way that’s comfortable and will get that good slap sound out of it.

Thank You Bass Community! 🤜🏿💥🤛🏿 If anything, I've been "consistently inconsistent"..🙃! I have to hold my elbow at such a weird angle just to get my thumb to be parallel with the string to begin with.🤙Awkward and uncomfortable. Elbow ends up horizontal to the floor. Is string height a variable?🤔 Y'all make the "slap" look effortless.😴💤 And my technique looks nothing close to proper!😠🤣😠🤣 If I find anything close, or comfortable, it puts the neck at a weird angle to fret. I am short with long arms. I have even tried locations on the strap. Nothing feels right!
