I have a question, i don't really understand why in the "network" command we are using a classfull net address instead of specifying all LAN interface networks with the correct wildmask. I searched on forums and I found out that in the "network" command is only important that the "X.X.X.X Y.Y.Y.Y" argument is in the range of the ip address in the various interfaces of the router. supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/12517846/eigrp-network-command-adding-interfacesnetwork-eigrp-routing. If this is true then if I issue the "network 10.0.0.0 0.255.255.255" command or the "network 10.0.1.0 0.0.0.255" on HQ the result should be the same right? Why in the second case I don't get the adjacency from the EIGRP? Is this a limit of Packet Tracer or am I missing something? Thank you for the help.

+Federico Pullini OK look this, network 10.0.0.1 0.0.0.255 is equal to network 10.0.0.0 0.0.0.255; network 192.168.1.10 0.0.0.255 is equal to network 192.168.1.0 0.0.0.255, the wildcard subnet mask will filter the ip address to get the network address and both are the same. But network 10.0.0.0 0.0.0.255 is not equal to network 10.0.1.0 0.0.0.255 because the wildcard subnet mask is not reaching so far.

+Christian Augusto Romero Goyzueta (romeroc24) Ok I understand that, my question is different, the directly connected network on HQ is 10.0.1.0 255.255.255.0. Technically if in the EIGRP configuration i write "network 10.0.0.0 0.255.255.255" or I write "network 10.0.1.0 0.0.0.255" in this scenario the result should be exactly the same. But in this activity on packet tracer if I choose the 2nd command the adjacency won't go up between HQ and B1. I wanna know why. My answer is that is a bug/limit on packet tracer but maybe I'm missing something that I cannot see or understand.

Hola Christian, tengo una duda con respecto a la acl HQINBOUND, concretamente con estas líneas: "Allow only established TCP sessions from the Internet" "Allow only inbound ping responses from the Internet". Ya que se refieren al tráfico proveniente de internet, no se podría poner en el comando la dirección de red 209.165.201.0, que es de donde viene el tráfico de internet en vez de "any"? gracias y saludos.

En este caso se podría especificar tanto la red externa como también se podría especificar la red interna privada, en el destino y origen respectivamente. Sin embargo se usa "any" porque las redes podrían cambiar dinámicamente en el tiempo, por ejemplo si la red interna se extiende una nueva oficina con una nueva red privada
