Chan Kin Fai (played by "ACTING FOR ACTION's" Sung Kang) flies to Los Angeles from Singapore to forget the person he loves. But he ends up calling his love everyday at 9 : 30 Singapore time.

Seems I am the only person to watch this in a while and give a review on it. This is a true art piece and I love it. I’ve watched this short film a numerous amount of times and can say it is one of, if not the greatest I have seen. Though most people wish for a proper concluding ending, it leaves the viewer on edge, keeps them intrigued. Shows a man’s struggle to keep up in a differed culture than he is used to. He finds refuge with people who share his struggle and fights for what is his whilst worrying constantly about the distance of his happiness. This is a beautiful film and no other comment on it truly shows it as much as mine. I hope this one single comment may lay refuge on this video for years to come and that someone may see it one day as something more than a useless piece of text on an old video, on an inactive channel that archives masterpieces such as this one. Humble beginnings.

I don't think anybody noticed this because i can't see it anywhere in the comments. But after he says "I wish you were here", the subway passes by, and he says something else but you can't hear it because of the subway's sound. It was his last word of the short film and I couldn't read his lips. There should be a sequel or something to get back on what he had said.

Kin Fai is so shy! A safe distance really...I have met people like that. at least now he can say i miss you instead of I love you. Very sweet short. and the fidgeting at the phone was so like a shy guy would do. He should have Skyped here if would have saved him money and the embarrassment of staying in the Student Inn. Sung Kang looked a little like Andy Lau played the role simular to Lau too. Great short!

Part1 My second interpretation: After thinking it was some kind of love story, I started paying more attention to the background music. It kind of set off a very horrific, scary kind of vibe. The main character mentioned twice about the distance about his lover and that it's better to keep a safe distance.

The protagonist is from Singapore that's why his love is from Singapore. He flew to LA to get away from her but ends up calling her anyways. That is not a Korean accent. Singapore's main language is English but because of it's position it has a chinese/indian accent to it.

he went to LA to get away from something back home but he was still living by Singapore time and kept phoning his friend back home..so his trip was a little bit pointless right, except he felt he could open up to his friend back home because he opened up to the German guy. I don't know, I got a bunch of different thoughts about what might be going on, like how he mentioned the distance between the german guy and himself as well as the distance between him and his friend. good film. i liked it.

I think its about a man who moves away from home (not quite sure why) and feels like he is closer to the person in Singapore than the German guy who is physically much closer to him than Singapore.

The Polish guy was kinda nosy. But good thing he convinced Kin Fai to talk. I think most everyone moving to a large since can relate to their first encounter with a stranger that later proved a valuable friend/ guide showing you around.

Okay for everyone complaining about the nudity, I think it's safe to say that it was obvious YOMYOMF wasn't entirely meant to be kid friendly after the "liberal" video, so you shouldn't be surprised and actually appreciate the fact that they're not afraid of leaving things uncensored.

well, you know this is mostly nigahigas audience, which comprise of a lot of adolescent boys and and girls, some of which may have no patience or understanding of the video, therefore they may dislike it. i believe they should enlist the help of a diversified number of KZbin's to really get the whole audience of KZbin to jump on board with the YOMYOMF network and fully grasp and appreciate the concept of some of these videos.

so, not only is sung kang a hilarious, suave bastard, but he can also pull emotional pieces like this with an astonishing amount of finesse. loved it. i also really wish people would relax about the porn bit. yes it was rather graphic, but it was quite low res and it was a small, but relevant statement. stop being soccer moms about it (no disrespect to actual soccer moms).

Instead you should ask YOMYOMF to limit the viewing age on their more "adult videos". The reason why they are allowed to show that is because the clip is being used as an artistic factor for this film. As you can guess, anything with "artistic value" is not blocked by youtube as that would interfere with Freedom of Speech. Of course KZbin determines how much of it is "artistic" and apparently they don't mind the use of the clips. As for your little sister, that is unfortunate, but it happens.

My first interpretation: His mind is deeply consumed w/ the thought of this woman, that he doesn't care about the fact that he's in Hollywood. The scene where him and that guy are at Tommy's Restaurant shows his efforts to take in the LA culture, but just realizes he's just inches away from a stranger, while he's thousands of miles away from the person he loves. This why he calls her right after. Geez…. Chan Kin Fai needs to freakin' move on or something!

My interpretation of the scene w/ porn on TV: This is for all the people that don't understand why this was part of the short film. It's significant because it emphasizes the different time zones that the two characters are fixated on. To Chan Kin Fai it's morning, hence the bowl of cereal and for that other guy, it's night, hence the watching of porn. There you go, problem solved.
