Hi everyone,
Thanks for stopping by the channel and welcome to #9 in the July series.
This video is just a simple introduction to getting the club falling behind you in transition, one of the bedrocks to take your game to the next level, as well as putting the club in a position where it can do that.
As we know, trying to change our swings whilst hitting at regular pace is very very difficult, to make any significant changes anyway.
So this simple drill gives you, and most importantly guarantees you and inside approach to the ball.
I hope you find it of interest.
Can’t say how appreciative I am of your support, it really is worth the late nights getting the edit ready for the morning, like now it’s 12.05am!
Wishing you health and happiness on and off the course.
Warren (and Trev)

This drill is "Gold" along with your others, that I've watched recently. I hope folks understand, just how important it is and that you were disciplined, articulate, and accurate in your lesson. Can't give you enough kudos for your desire to help folks to swing properly. Golf is a great game for "A-type" personalities who strive for perfection.

Went to the range yesterday to do this drill. I think if I had one drill to do, this would be it. Of course, I'll need a few weeks to get it right, I did have some success. You were so right about speeding up, very easy to do, was much better with the very light grip. The blending will take a bit longer. I've always enjoyed practise, grateful for this Warren as always.

Cheers Keith, I wish you well and well done for getting out and working on your game. Always good to have a few drills in the locker which gets into the internals, yes speeding up will always divert the golfer back a bit so practicing different speeds is always a great one. Many thanks for your message and feedback, much appreciated and good luck. Warren

The hinge and drop drill is new to me despite listening to thousands of golf instructional videos over my lifetime. It is by far the best drill for me at my stage of development -(80 years and still developing and learning and getting better by the way). Thank you so much for introducing me to this drill. This drill should be compulsory for every learner of golf and taught at the very outset to get on the right path sooner than later. Invaluable advice for which I am eternally grateful. Your long windedness reinforces what we need to remember otherwise were the video not so long winded, we would soon tend to forget. So being long winded is a good thing I suppose though it does not always seem to be that way at the time..

Thank you and appreciate your feedback and well done for being so committed to your golf. I’m glad that you found the video useful, and apologies for the waffle, I know I rabbit on a bit but I do find it hard to just say something once as there’s always more to everything and like to make sure I get the point over!! Wishing you well Regards Warren

Ty, I'm definitely going to give it a go, you can't say slow down too much to me, omg I'm a maniac, that's why sometimes I'm over the top, the golf ball is way to much in focus,and when I get lazy and have minimal body rotation. For myself to improve, I need to be 70 % IQ and 30% mechanical if that makes sense. I've been watching Dan Grieves, a great short game coach, I'm stealing yours and his logic , slowing it down, and trying to understand what I'm doing while I'm doing it. Thanks again. Your experience is outstanding, and knowledge brings on confidence.

Thank you for your message, yes it does make sense, I think instinctively we tend to go at the ball in transition to hit, I call I falling in love with it, we should be light, then natural speed can develop. It’s tricky to cure like any bad habit but sounds like you’re on the right lines and have the awareness of it. Appreciate you sending me your message and thanks for the support. Warren

Recent subscriber. Love your teaching style. Watched your “ drill for a lifetime” video and you referenced hip and overall mobility issues. Liked it. Most people know there is a slot, and you are supposed to drop into it, and that is about as far as the get. Why? I think the instinct to hit is difficult to overcome but worth it. I recommend getting it with pitching or short shots no pressure to hit the ball.

Warren, you have rescued my golf from extinction. Deleted all previous KZbin golf videos. Question: would i be correct that the concepts of taking the club back facing the ball, the loop, the correct figure of 8, the vertical drop and the closeness of the right elbow on the downswing are related ? Could you do a video on this please

How do I stop throwing away all the power before I get to the ball? My brain wants to hit at the ball so I have the shaft leaning backwards instead of forward. I think my brain is targeting the ball and designing its own swing around that.
@warrenbennettgolfacademy

Many thanks for your message, this is one of the really tricky areas in Golf), where there’s an instinct to go after and towards the ball and try and hit it. Rhythm, lack of tension in your grip, And allowing your hands and Club to drop down in transition, will give the club more chance to swing with more power, instead of the golfer having to put that effort in. One of the best exercises to be able to implement this is the feet together drill I will send you the link . Hope this helps Warren

I've been enjoying working my way through loads of your videos....new and old. Similar to another post for this video, there seem to me to be some similar themes developing in many different videos. This one today....is it the same as that tray video you did....where you could hold tray flat in downswing? I actually tried this wirh a snall tray in kitchen and got some very strange looks from other half!! As other poster suggested.....could you do a video with the 3 or 4 or more tips that all result in a similar feeling.... With this one , guess it would be "dropping into the slot"....maybe? Loving your content.

Hi Pete, yeah I do quite a lot on shallowing, hitting for the inside, under plane stuff as a majority of the problems club golfers have is an over the top steep move. I’ve got a video coming out tomorrow that will obliterate an over the top move. I will put on my list and do my top 5 anti slice drills etc Regards Warren

@@warrenbennettgolfacademy Brilliant Warren, great stuff. I guess 90% of issues for amateurs are related to over the top etc. It causes so many of their issues....slicing, glancing blows and not getting good compression.....so no ball then turf strikes. The other 10% would be timing and tempo, I guess. And of course they're related....swinging down too fast due to not dropping into slot. Thanks for your patience and understanding. Great stuff. Inspiring.

I do not disagree with your method, but Ben Hogan and Bobby Jones both had a shallow backswing and never came ‘over the top’.

Is this not “cupping” Warren?
@warrenbennettgolfacademy
@warrenbennettgolfacademy 15 күн бұрын
No, the wrist can stay neutral, obviously it is a huge exaggerated move which shouldn’t be replicated when hitting a ball but it will give you a sensation of what the body and arm need to do. Thank you for your message Warren
