First, thank you for the class, but one question about the last example ,when you do the second order correlation function for the sinusoidal intensity, if tau is not 0, the second order correlation function goes to 1 like for chaotic light?

As we know the identity (Sin^2 t + Cos^2 t = 1), so sin^2 t= 1-cos^2 t, the why you use (1- 2 cos t/2 )? Would you please clarify this ?

He did this to show that the average of sin²wt is 1/2.
